I'm getting it day one, only question is save $20 and get Wipehd also with the downloadable Socom and how many maps did cod4 have at launch think 12 if correct? And if 12 and Socom has 8 that is pretty good for only $40 :)
Also there is a ton of modes to play for each map and not only that but for each map you have, day, night, small, medium and large scale of the same map. Also the zoom on the dpad has always been like that for socom as far as I can remember. And being a tactical shooter there is no need of it having a quick zoom like a fps.

I'm going to wait for the full game to come out. This is basically a gran turismo 5 prolouge to help tide people over until the real game comes out. They said there's no single player mode and there's only online play. Also there's only 8 levels. It sounds like a ripoff to me. The standard edition is $40 and the one with the mic is $60. It seems like a lot of money considering there's only 8 levels and no proper rankings system in online play. If I was you guys I would just wait for the real game to release.420BongToker420
Socom is all about online play...GT5 prologue is wasy different, because things are actually limited and your eventually going to get bored of the game.
Socom Confrontation is going to be around for a long time, they are even going to have downloadable maps in the future. And there is going to be a ranking system....not sure where you got that info from.
I always make most and be cautious of my money, was how I was raised up. So nothing will really change for me, I will buy Socom: Confrontation for sure and maybe 1-2 games by the end of the year.
I don't get why you said "no game on the ps3 should be pay to play" that is a problem.....
Sony has the right to charge whatever they want....however the PSN is still going to be free, there is just a possibility of MAG being subscription based....only that one game subscription like you do with Qore, not the entire PSN.
I would think Socom is a must buy, I mean the mic alone costs $50, and bundled with the game its $60....
I'll most definitely be playing Socom my majority of time....should last a few years.
