so i need help deciding whether or not to blow up Megaton... i went through and blew it up, got a sweet mansion penthouse, money and a stealth boy. but i also know that now i cant complete the survival guide and some other things that are in Megaton... what are the pros and cons of each scenario?
anyone know how to get this? i've already tried letting the game sit idle for a minute or two... or 5. still nothing. seems like a simple task, right? :D
good luck fixing the BIOS if that's the problem. there isnt exactly a command prompt you can use or an F8 key to press on startup. your best bet is to take it back for an exchange if it was a recent purchase or contact sony for fix. unfortunately, the latter might not be worth the money since you can probably find a used one on craigslist for the price of the repair.
Hacking terminals is quite easy in the game. (played PC version). You get 4 or more words and 4 tries. You have to guess randomly. However you can apply tricks. Each time you select a word number of correct letters appears. What I started to do at mid of the game with harder terminals is look at words with ING or ED. If you choose a word that ends with ING and there are 3 or more letters correct than most likely you need to look for a word that ends with ING (most likely). If iyou selected ING word but only 2 or less letters were correct than you defienlty not looking for a word that ends with ING. Also you might know that you can shut down the computer on your last try and try again. I dont mean shut your own PC or PS3, I am talking about the virtual terminal.
After selecting 2 words and seeing what letters are correct you can compare 2 results and try to improve your chances of guessing again.

wow, thanks. that really helps. i didnt know what those 1/4 or 3/4 things meant on the bottom. how do you reset the terminal? i get out of the computer and go back in and it still says "see system administrator"
ok... i still dont get how i'm supposed to hack these terminals... i get four chances to guess randomly?? there are words in the jumble of symbols but how am i supposed to know which one is really the right one?? i just find it hard to believe this is how you really hack a terminal in this game.
yeah, there are tons of bugs. i havent had the freezing but i've had tons of audio glitches. one time, a car exploded and after that the sound had this humming and buzzing that wouldnt go away until i saved and reloaded the game at that point. i enjoy the game despite all the glitches, but i guess it's only because i've been craving an RPG for so long.
this is unacceptable!! after i came out of megaton just like any other time, over 10 hours into the game, i now have a shooting glitch. the R1 button doesnt fire anything anymore. but instead when i open and close and menu from my pip boy to the pause menu, it fires a random shot and then i cant shoot anymore. what the heck is going on!!!!!!!!!!! i'm so completely PO-ed!
ok guys, everybody watch the intro. Right after the scene where the bomb goes off, does your audio skip too? i'm wondering if this is a global glitch and not just an isolated case. If it's global, i think that's just crazy that they couldn't even get the intro to run without an audio skip. it's pretty obvious too.
anyone else always running low on ammo in fallout 3? i got the gunslinger perk making it easier to kill people in VATS mode but it's still not enough to conserve ammo. i feel like i dont have enough ammo to go around killing things to level up. i want to be able to gain more xp but i cant do that if i use ammo every time to kill something. it's different than oblivion. everything was basically melee in that game (at least for me) so i never had to worry about ammo except with arrows but even then, you'd find them all over. i need some help.
