I've editted the build from your suggestions. Also, I'm going with 16GB of RAM. That decision is not going to change.

The only thing I'm really not sure about is the Thermal Compound. I know some are better than others. How's my choice?

I'm taking your suggestion for the i7 2600K and the Asus board. Thank you :) Glad I asked you guys before I hit the checkout button.

The CPU I picked up is a hexacore. The one you linked was a quad. I'm thinking the 2 more cores might give a slight performance boost, especially for BF3 :)

Also, I was hoping to go for DDR3 1600. Just rendering wise, it's a little better. Also, the 4GB more RAM should help with rendering.

For the mobo, I've always preferred EVGA over everything else.

My budget was $2500 so decreasing the value of the computer isn't needed.

Just looking at building a new high end rig and wanted your opinions on what I currently have.

No "Get AMD" because I'm going Intel/Nvidia.

Edit: Later post has new build.

The laptop I linked will do just fine. An extra $300 on a gift is a bit ridiculous.

Okay, I read it again and now I get it. Does it happen everytime or only once?

The 450 will be better for home media as it has a HDMI port.
