@Jimbody: I wouldn't count anything out. The Far Cry games have always had that edge of strangeness to them. I would not be surprised if there were dinosaurs. I wouldn't be surprised if there were guns either.
There are some pretty high profile MMOs that aren't F2P and still have cash shops. WoW does. Guild Wars 2 does. SWTOR, ESO, DDO, LotRO, & STO all have optional subs but still maintain cash shops with stuff even subs can buy. So it's not like this move is without precedent if you're calling Destiny an MMO.
I totally agree that the coolest stuff should be earned in the game. It'd be pretty crap to come out of VoG sporting Chatterwhite and see a line of newbies in front of the cash shop already wearing it. On the other hand, they put Blacksmith in the game exclusively and pre-order bonus for Advanced Warfare (and I guess you could get it at a couple trade shows), and that one was black and gold and pretty pimp looking.
@Evil_Sidekick: To be fair, the number of people who come to Gamespot to ***** is minuscule next to the number of people playing the really popular AAA games, like Destiny. I imagine this microtransactions could pull in tall dollars without anyone here in this comments section ever touching them.
And let's be honest, most of the folks giving off stink here don't even play Destiny anymore anyway.
