"We view our software as being a very important asset for us. And also for consumers who are purchasing the game"

I think always online as a DRM the worse move ever against piracy, it only hurt consumers who are purchasing the game.

@Etagloc: If you really knew the Internet, you'd know for sure it's not full of constructive criticism :)

But jokes apart, I think it's important for people to dump their sad feelings about something on a place where people talk about that something.

I visited NMS subreddit before the game launch, asking for information about the game. And they were clear enough (and some hateful enough, I may add) to explain me how the game would work, and they actually nailed it, honestly. I bought the game knowing it would be a boring and repetitive experience as some people say, but that's what I was looking for, a vast world to explore.

They just couldn't predict the bugs, some game breaking, but I was luck enough to experience minor bugs. One thing I'd complain about is Sean not being 100% clear and objective when speaking about the game before its release and it got even worse after the release, when the storm of bad and angry talking about the game replace that crazy hype people nursed before it's launch.

But people, gamers, are to blame too. I mean, I did my part, I know what kind of game it was. Even about multiplayer, I can't say I was misinformed, the subreddit helped me with that making it 100% clear it was not a multiplayer game at all, and it was before launch. Anyways, hype kinda screwed gamers, once again. It was not the first and far from being the last time. Again, hype was fueled by misinformation or lack of information or confirmation about hoax.

And lies! There was a lie about players being able to see each other. I consider that multiplayer, so I really didnt expected that being possible, even though Sean said that early when promoting the game at a talk show or in a interview for a website, I don't remember it right. Anyways, he lied, plain and simple, it doesn't matter what I did or didn't expected. People could expect to travel with friends once they found each other (again, multiplayer), I don't know, but that doesn't matter, Sean lied.

The problem with this game is not the game itself, I think. I totally understand people frustrations, I mean, in the end I think I do. But I think it's wrong people that got angry because, according to them, it's a boring and repetitive experience, when it was clear, among all lies and misinformation, that it was supposed to be a busywork type of game, that make explore just for the sake of exploring, you pretty much go from here to there, maybe to find something, maybe to find something for the 10th time, pretty much doing stupid thing, again, for the sake of exploring. It's a niche game that somehow went mainstream, people got crazy and hyped about it and that resulted in all this hate.

"At the core of things, this is a subreddit and a community centered around No Man's Sky. I'm asking everyone here to participate in good faith and leave any frustration with the recent situation at the door."

So... You're only welcome if you're going to say good things?

@Cohenat: Yes. It should be played like Arma 3, DayZ or other games in this genre, more like a simulator, with care and planning, check every single corner and listen for steps, stuff like that. I like how it's building up. Watched some lives and the game feels like it plays great.

Is Eddie Makuch running the "text" news alone?

I mean, if it's not someone on a 30 seconds "news" video (after a 90 seconds halo toy ad), it's something that Eddie Makuch wrote.
