I remember an alike encounter during Prince of Persia (on the PS3). I had beaten enough health of the boss to trigger an cutscene where he shatters the wooden floor and makes you tumble down.. Except I was on the stone outer ring of the area. BAM frozen. Oddest thing was that the music kept playing..
I had silently been hoping for a sequel, but with Heavenly Sword selling so bad.. :( Enslaved looked quite alike in artstyle so I'm hoping it will be just as awesome. :)
This is the reason I'm so happy some games have auto-save. Not that that always saves properly, but if it crashes the autosave is usually more recent then my own save. Still annoying beyond though!
If you are lucky you can find the GBA ones as a bargain in some stores and obviously there is a bunch on ebay. I'd say go from with FFIV, which is the first one I really enjoyed.
