People are saying this looks like a SCUMM game with no realization that the creator of this game essentially invented SCUMM. It's good to see Rob Gilbert back in the news without Tim Schafer riding his coattails.
If you notice my comment history, you'll see that I've posted about Jeremy Stieglitz being the actual lead developer of ARK before any of this broke the press, and before anyone in the industry came forward. And yes, Jeremy poached devs and set up shop literally down the street whilst treating it like some kind of tremendous secret. This is Gainesville for crissakes. Jesse I know you've known Jer for a long time but lying and going to bat for the guy is going to be your career suicide.
I'm glad he trashed the nepotistic culture around San Francisco. They probably thought, "who does this rapper think he is - trying to make a game with an African American protagonist? It's our job as bearded middle-aged patreon funded white men to make these kinds of diverse games and later pat our backs about it!"
Does anyone ever ask why all the interviews are with the Jesse and not Jeremy Stieglitz (formerly of Trendy and the actual creator of Ark)? Just seems weird that they never cover that.. Hmmm maybe someone should dig a little further into that story.
