Well, that settles dx10 vs. dx9 graphical rendering isn't much different when choosing "very high quality"...at least from what I've seen. I think dx10 will provide more of a "physics" improvement, no? That's what I understood from a previous article/interview. PEACE

Ugh, halo...I'll stick to UT 2004 if I want a "sci fi" shooter, although halo3 looks decent. I'm not flaming or anything, but the engine is dated and this release is an obvious money grab...Nintendo is doing the same with RE4, but since I don't already own it, it will definitely be on my "to buy" list for my Wii. DX 10 or Unreal3 engine games are where the market is seemingly going (and hopefully Porject Offset) so I don't see why halo2 fans would be excited... PEACE

drxym Sony fanboy apologists will about face and start saying "who cares about PS2 games". The simple fact that BC is important. Otherwise Sony wouldn't have said it to begin with and have kept saying it. As much as I respect your opinion, I don't agree with it. I don't feel backwards compatibility is truly that important because I don't feel the advantages are great enough. When the PS2 offered the ability to play the PS1 games, they also offered smoother graphics on most of their games which made all the difference. They also allowed the PS1 audio to run from L/R to optical with the ability to run on Dolbydigital Surround. That was worth it, but I only played about 30% of most of my games before I was interested in playing all the other great games Sony was offering. I don't see any advantage other than being able to play both types of games on one system, which does not seem as big of a deal to me. Again, I respect your opinion, I just don't agree with it. PEACE

I am from Canada, isn't that veird? :) Seriously though, limited backwards compatibility definitely should not be a subject worth the effort and time Gamespot has dedicated some of its editors to write about. How about understanding that Sony has always, in one way or another, disappointed us and will continue to do so until they realize where the market has gone and is going. I'm sad the UK won't get what we all got already, but really, if you want to play your PS2 games, play them on your PS2. Your games won't support the 1080p nor the Bluray, hell, it won't even support the digital optical connection on the PS2 (DVD movies only) let alone the PS3's HDMI or optical. So why bother? I agree with Carlos that this should not be blown to the proportion Gamespot has made it out to be. Play your PS2 games on your PS2, and I'll play my GC games on my Wii. ;) PEACE
