It's simply about money. Think about it, If a consumer is buying used it's not actually a lost new game sale. For me there are a lot of games that I haven't bought because the price is too high or it's just not worth it (to me of course). If I already don't think that it's worth it then I'm not going to buy it. If I see it at a lower cost then sure I'll get it because I figured that it was worth it at that lower cost. The best way for publishers to ensure that a used game sale isn't "hurting" their potential sales is to lower the cost of games. I'm not going to buy RE: Operation Raccoon City for $60 but I would buy it for $35 or maybe $40.
Well this was an eventful week of low scoring mid - high profile games. I may try out RE anyway just for a fun co-op experience. NG3 will be a bargain bin buy.
it's not that serious, they give endings in movies that everyone doesn't like but we don't attack the film makers? If games are to be seen at the level of other major media we should treat it like other major media, and not act like spoiled brats.
