It's connected to the PSN account, it has nothing to do with the PSP. So whatever PSP your using with that one account at the moment, is how you access your one code.

Every new UMD comes with a code on the back of the manual. It's one use only. Every digital download comes pre registered, (as if you already entered the code) but I've been hearing some problems from users about it still requiring a code when it shouldn't.

Contacting customer support and supplying your serial number seems to be clearing it up though.

The separate "online download" from the PSN is just buying another code; and supposedly it's for if you get banned, or if you bought the game used.

[QUOTE="NotAFurry"] You understand this will prevent non-pirated copies from being used online on more than one PSP? And introduce a hassle. Damn, first they botch SOCOM on the PS3 (apparently) and now they're botching the PSP SOCOM.mariokart64fan

Yes I do understand that. Do you understand that there would be no difference in use if buying tangible media?

Would you expect five, online enabled copies if you bought Socom FTB3 via UMD?

Consider it a gift that for the price of one new game, you can put it on 5 different systems and play singleplayer as well as Ad Hoc.

They didn't "botch" anything. You just want more of a 5 for 1 deal...

wait what you said did not make any sense, 5 copies to go online , hows one going to do so , every copy goes online to begin with you just gotta pay some bull fee for it to do so , im sorry but you just made your self look like a total noob , if he bought it on umd it wont be five copies unless he bought five copies duh , , are you illiterate, he was talkin about if people sold their copy , pretty much they either should keep the code usable , for that copy of the game , be he sold it to gamestop or on ebay hed keep the code with the game , so the next person could use it , not so 5 copies get online!

Sit back bud, read it again carefully. Granted it would help if you were the user it was actually aimed at, but props for trying to comprehend the sentences all the same.

Key words in his post are highlighted for your convenience, as they now are in mine.

I think I'll take my chances, and wait for HIM to clarify just what he meant. But I stand by my original response.

And don't worry, I'll refuse the burning urge to point out the irony of someone calling someone else illiterate, when they can barely string together a coherent sentence as it is.

Aww shucks...

Non-reusable code to play online? ON A CONSOLE!!!??? That flat out sucks. This spells bad things, I hope gamers make an uproar. That was always one of the things why console gaming was better than PC gaming. I'm from the PS3 forum BTW. [QUOTE="lostcali8"]But I'm all for it if it really stops hacking, and prevents pirated copies from being used online.NotAFurry

Who is Santos? :P

But yeah, it wasn't fantastic. Not terrible either.

A fun little distraction that still felt like an adventure with Salem and Rios.

The morality choices added a bit of depth as well.. All in all, just vanilla..

Socom FTB3 is hacker free at the moment (fingers crossed), but only time will tell how this new anti piracy/hacking system holds up.

That said, not all games are ruined by hackers, only the biggest, most populated ones..

MonkeySpot

... so what Cali means is, "any game worth playing online - A title which is actually played by others - has cheaters". So if you want to play "Field Commander" or "Clubhouse Games" online, you're golden. And do a search, but I've seen plenty of posts decrying the cheaters on "Resistance Retribution". Anyone who says 'Oh It's Not That Bad' is an optomist (commendable, certainly, yet incorrect). There's absolutly nothing wrong with standing in a room full of horse poop and continuing to believe there's got to be a pony in there somewhere, but eventually you need to conceed that the room still stinks to high heaven even if you find a saddle and bridle hanging on the wall.

Look, I'm not bashing here, I'm just stating a fact.

Actually thats not what I mean. Who says Field Commander isn't worth playing? It's a great online experience. As is Motorstorm, Wipeout Pulse, Warhammer 40K SC, Socom TS, NHL 07 and a few other, fairly off the charts, small community games. Though I suppose I see how the "small community" part could turn some away. Kids do like the new and flashy these days...

That said, it's even possible to get lost within the BIGGEST online games and experience only the occasional A-hole hacker by the sheer nature of how many people your playing with. During FTB2's hayday there were TONS of hackers, but there were also thousands of legit players, so it was possible to go a few matches at a time without having to vote one out or change games. (Or get booted  ) Same way with Resistance and Syphon Filter, but to a lesser extent now; as theres less people playing at any given time. Sure there there, and they'll ruin your game for pathetic kicks, but it's not as bad as some make it out to be.

Theres still fun to be had online. So saying every single online game is 100% ruined by hackers, is just as untrue as saying there are games that you won't even notice them.

With the exception of FTB3, it's a rampant problem, but don't let it turn you off from online gaming completely..

It's only 1 code per PSN account, and once it's used thats it.

But I'm all for it if it really stops hacking, and prevents pirated copies from being used online.

So far so good with FTB3, but only time will tell in the long run..

The 3000 is not being discontinued. Your Best Buy's selection is just lacking.

It is still in full production side by side with the GO.
