I didn't hate Oblivion, but I bought it, played it for a while and didn't go back to it, even before preforming one quest. Fallout 3 I couldn't put down...I like the art style/story of Fallout 3 more, that is the clincher for me...
The Wii is amazing to fool around with friends. It is good for that, as a social thing. I've had so much fun playing Mario Kart and Wii Sports with friends. I've tried to play single player games on it and just did not enjoy myself. I have my 360 for that. Wii is only good to play with others, or for Wii Fit.
Books and video games have been a passion for me since I was a kid. I can't compare the two because I get completely different things out of them - the books I read are literary or political or scholarly, the games I love are shooters/action etc. I probably spend more time on books, but I'm in law school now, so I blow off steam through video games more and all my reading energy is spent on cases. I might tackle a novel over the holidays.
I had never played the series before and pciked up DW6 for 360 anyway. I love it! I don't feel lost or like I have to go back and play any of the older ones.
