why nobody agrees with me that The Prince of Persia would be perfect?
i agree, the prince is awsome and nintendo would probably wouldn't have much trouble getting him in their game unlike master chief
[QUOTE="ledzeppelin667"]i agree that you don't need a $2000 computer to play pc games provided you build it yourself but i still prefer a console because.
-if you build a computer you pretty much get no warrenty or tech support for it
False on the contrary you usually get even more warrenties and tech support.. For instance most video cards you buy now adays like places form EVGA and BFG have LIFE TIME WARRANTIES.
-its more difficult to have friends over to play games on the same system
Very true but the system also has the best multiplayer to date with the most customizability.. And some games are fun to play together on the same computer.. There is TV out as well.
-its nearly impossible to take a computer on vacation or in a car for long rides
Not true neccesarly.. Laptops are easilly portable.. And you can build a shuttle computer which is just as possible though does have some psace constranits.. But its easy to carry weighing under 15 lbs most the time not to mention is very small.
-most companies chose to make their shooter, racing, action, platformer and fighting games mostly on consoles
Incrediably FALSE on shooters.. There are more shooters on the PC then any console out there. Racing, most of the big racing games are out on the PC. Platformers and Fighting games is a unfortante set of genres that have few.
-you need to install games which can consume hardrive space
I don't understand how this would be a reason not to get a computer.. This is like complaining about consoles that I have to put the disc into the console to play it.
-little ability to rent games before you buy them
Thats why we have the magically thing called "demos".
-the console ports computers get nearly always come late and/or are not done well
The exact same could be said for most pc to console ports. Riddick and Oblivion is testament thats not always true.
-way too many hackers on online for computers
It completely depends on the game, server, community etc etc.. You can play numerous games on secure servers and you will never see a hacker.. A small price to pay for the thousands of times over more customizability you get.
-the time you spend upgrading, maintaining and building your computer could be better spent
On what a new console system? You do not need to upgrade every year to keep ahead.. PC game graphics have already surpassed consoles as it stands.
thats just my take on it though; i wont deny computers do have some good games and mods and stuff can give games more longevity on computers.
Thats a understatement I am able to play classics from the early 90's as well as the bleeding edge games of today that surpass games for consoles in graphics, customizability and overall control most of the time. There are drawbacks.. One is the inability pretty much for the majority of games to not play together on the same system. Another is the fact that problems can always arise with comptuers in errors depending on the games. But with these draw backs I get the largest gaming library of AAA's and AA's in botht he short term and the long term.. The largest varience in games.. The largest FPS, RTS, TBS, RPG, as well as other game libraries. I also get access to a mod community which does fantastic things to games to the point it could add 5 to 10x more replayability of the game if not more.. A great example is my link in the Sig of Freespace 2.. That game has one of the most dedicated mod communities.. Its a 1999 game and due to modding they have upgraded the graphics to look fantastic by even todays standards.. Lets not forget the PC has the best multiplayer community to date.. Sure there are draw backs, but these benefits far outwiegh anything that can hinder a person.

ill try and clear some stuff up in my post
1. but im not that good with computers so if something goes wrong i won't know if its the graphics card or what and i will have to take it in for repairs, thats just me though.
2.i don't know if you can really build a laptop from scatch (i know you can upgrade one)
3. idon't mind installing things but it can be bothersome when you stop playing a game so youuninstall it(sometimeslosing your saved games) and when you want to play it again you have to install it again, this kind of makes you not want to bother. you guys might not get thisbut i cant count the number of times someone has asked to play a game i havn't played in a while and i say i would have to reinstall it, then they don't want to bother knowing we would only play it for a bit.
4. i don't like demos because no matter what you don't get the full game experience, sure there free but they cut so much out of the game you don't even get to try the stuf you want to. and often if a game is fun but a poor value soyou can beat it in one rental without paying full price, this is not an option with a demo.
5. i would consider hackers a large price to pay, even if your on a secure server hacks get through andpeopleget paranoid that everyone is a hacker i have been banned 2 times for hacking when i wasn't and this ruined 2 seprate games for me.
6. i want to play games to have fun not to have "teh leading edgegfx" the message pc gaming sends me is "i know you work hard at your job but we need you tobuy new parts and install themso you can play games"
7. it's not an understatement i was closing my post by saying pc gaming isn't all bad
this is kind of off topic so i probably won't argue my points further in this thread.
thats bad because it could end up hurting the wiis sales to casuals (especially in canada). but im surethey will have them on the wii eventually.

i would like to see the GB and GBA added and when nintendo comes out with their next system i would like to see the Gamecube and Dreamcast added.
MGS4 might sell some ps3s to people who liked MGS3 but it's much to strange and complex for anyone else. i havent played MGS3 so i had no clue what was going on in any of the trailers. and the name is to long and confusingwhich contributes to it's lack of appeal to casual gamers. halo has a nice name and it dosn't rap itself up in its story, it also has great multiplayer thats easy to pickup and play but also challenging to master. all of these factors give halo the clear edge.
