Crash Bandicoot was the first game I ever got with the PS1, so I'm always gonna side with Crash. Whenever I see a screenshot of the original game nostalgia just completely kicks my ass. Still, Spyro was a lot of fun. Actually Spyro 2 may have been the best overall game out of both series.
I'm gonna have to say FFVII too. My first FF was VIII, so I guess I never had the connection with VII that many gamers seem to have. And I just think it's a damn dull game. I've never had the patience to play it any more than three or so hours. It's the one game I'll never "get". Still love FF VIII and IX though.
I LOVED the Fear Effect games, but I wouldn't really consider them horror games in the same sense as Resi or Silent Hill games. The RE series gets my vote though... 2 and 3 are still among my favourite games ever.
This stuff about survival action in an open world is all and good, but it seems that every Tomb Raider "reboot" just results in Lara getting smaller boobies.
