I get where you're coming from Garfield, and that's the whole issue today. 1 reviewer gives out the score. I think several reviewers should do it at the same time, therefore we get a more balanced sense.

So the game should be rated bad when it improved on Call of Duty 4 multiplayer with new features? Yes there are bugs and its not the best game ever. However, thats my opinion of it, that does not mean I dont think the millions of others who bought it should not have done because I dont think it is the best game ever.

The Spike awards were voted by several sources so the majority wins the vote. I recall Demons Souls getting GOTY and people raging about it so I think this is a case of people dont like anything they dont agree with.

Pai-May, would you not say that is still forming an opinon based on what others say though? Honest Gamers may be honest, but they are still impartial as is every other source as people are bias one way or another. Call of Duty 4 may deserve to out score the sequal but that doesnt suddenly make the sequal rubbish. I don't get this whole "if the games not as good then its rubbish and should not exist" attitude that some people (not saying anybody in particular, just people in general who do it) give out. If a game sells then it deserves to exist, if it doesnt sell a single copy then maybe it needs to be looked at why but not wrote off immediatly as rubbish.

Heavy Rain for example has a heck of a lot of QTE's but it works for that game, its an expereience. At the end of the day I think this is where some people are not happy. They want all games to be arcade hardcore expriences or they want story driven games where you have your hand held along the way. I like a variaty of games, be it the sports update Fifa 10 where I can play with a friend online with the latest squads, Fallout 3 where I can experience a storu, Forza Motorsport 3 where I can have a race around familar circuits with cars I would love to own, or  Bionic Commando where the game makes me think and challenges me. I am not going to say anything I don't like or play often should not exist or should not sell. People buy what they want, nobody was forced to buy Modern Warfare 2, people got it because they wanted it. You can only sell so many copys of a rubbish game before people click and stop doing it.

It's not the only rating, but my point is, other games are less hyped, and are almost exact replicates.

A huge one:

Roller Coaster Tycoon

Roller Coaster Tycoon 2

GS said that RCT 2 was too much like an expansion pack and rated it a 7, where as RCT 1 was around an 8.

That didn't happen with MW and MW2.

Good points Pai.

@Garfield

Noticed the high review scores? Spike awards?

For what? A copied over multiplayer, a few new guns, and a 5 hour campaign shorter than COD4?

All these games have large amount of budgets in advertising. My issue is that the hype allows smaller games to slip right through the cracks. Notice how much praise MW 2 got because of the hype?

She attempted to deliver a knock out blow to Garfield, but the sly Garfield had tied her shoe laces together inevitably causing her to...

Your right Garfield, there is nothing wrong with that, just like Hype.

It isn't wrong, I just believe it's unfair. Games with smaller budgets don't get that kind of attention, and there is a lot of talent that is turned away.

@ my previous post: It is directed to the specific example of MW2. That is indeed, what the market is turned to. It makes sense if you think, a large portion of gamers today are 13-18 year olds.

You won't see more 20 year olds than 13-18 year olds.

I understand CS, since I played it quite a bit. I was the defuser and planter.

Anyways, 1 thing about the medics: If there are no medics, what happens? You don't regen health at all.

Another thing, there are some people in this game who are (Censored word here) and don't heal certain people, or just use all the medic boxes them selves.

Yeah I guess, but this is a huge issue, and they appeal mainly to 13-18 year old gamers, and well, most 13-18 year old gamers are poorly educated and the first flashy thing they see they jump at it. Everything else is: Fake and Gay (No offense)

Sure, but do you want 40 medics running around on a map?

This is a huge issue in Wolfenstein. When it would come time to build a bridge, every one would change to engineer and yuu'd have 40 guys runnin around with hammers.

Suddenly, one class becomes more important than others. I don't like that.
