Can't they think of anything different for a change? Everything suggested in the comments have been done before in some game or another, how about a setting in prehistoric times with Neanderthal people with the invasion of the Tyrannosaurids!
I'm surprised "FTL: Faster than Light" didn't make it. There really is no game like it! Hmm, it could win GOTY on gamespot for it's great innovation! ;)
Gosh, who cares about news like this! Where the heck is "Gamespot Gameplay" and "Quoted for Truth" and all the other shows?? There seems to be a bit of slacking going on....

I totally DISAGREE with Ryan Davis on his fixed conclusion that the steam box is a "re-skinned PC" without actually knowing what it truly IS or CAN be. Desktop PC's have operating systems and parts that require a little bit of knowledge and compatibility to make everything work together, if you plan on upgrading. Not too user friendly for the average joe. Consoles and laptops have fixed GPUs that can't be upgraded. So why not have the best of both worlds where you completely take out the OS and make it as user friendly as a console BUT also have it be UPGRADABLE where the system is compact and valve can release new GPU cards down the line that you can maybe purchase and plug into the steam box easily WITHOUT having to totally upgrade all of your hardware and it will have all the games from steam that you can purchase. Is that too far out there??? Who say's it has to connect to your PC?? For what? It has it's own HARDWARE that is UPGRADABLE without using an OS!! What system can do that?? Why can't valve make hardware!?? Sega did, Microsoft did, even this new "Ouya" is making hardware! So for him to totally dismiss the steam box as an automatic "onlive gaming system" is RIDICULOUS! This guy thinks he has it all figured out, ASSUMING things when he really has NO CLUE what the steam box IS and then for him to think that he is right!?? He might want to be more OPEN to the possibility of something DIFFERENT, rather than comparing it to things we already have, when the steam box could be shooting for a WHOLE NEW PLATFORM!!!
Eh, It has a few Wii U exclusives like ZombiU, Mario, and Bayonetta 2 and those other ones, but not enough for a first day buy. Most of the games they showed, in my opinion, don't look that interesting and never heard of them before. Then they got games that are or have already came out for THIS generation like batman, call of duty, mass effect 3, and assassin's creed 3. This is 2012 and I want to see NEXT GENERATION GAMES for this "NEXT GENERATION CONSOLE". Let's see a NEW batman, call of duty, mass effect and assassins creed game EXCLUSIVELY for the Wii U with updated graphics and gameplay. THEN that would be worth it. Not games we can get on TODAY'S GENERATION consoles. It looks like they are competing with xbox 360 and ps3, which is sad. Seem's nintendo is still lagging behind and I predict it will end up like the original wii when the next Playstation and Xbox systems comes out.
Just knowing "Call of Duty: Black Ops 2" is coming out in a few months, makes all these map pack DLC's feel like a waste of time and money. Like they don't let these things "set in". It's all about rushing these DLC's out the door before we get yet another shooting fest.
