Let's compare Nintendo and Sony consoles for a minute.
- Nintendo 64 (ROM cartridge) and Playstation (CD-ROM)
- Gamecube ("Nintendo Gamecube Disc") and Playstation 2 (DVD and CD)
- Wii ("Wii Optical Disc") and Playstation 3 (Blu-ray Disc)
- Wii U ("25GB Wii U optical Disc") and Playstation 4 (Something good)
It seems like Nintendo is always one step behind with only a few great games released for their console using average hardware. By all means, pay 390 dollars for a sub-par system and game when the real next generation consoles are right around the corner and you will see the trend continue. I really would not be surprised if Nintendo stopped making consoles and became software based like Sega. I like Nintendo games and everything, but they only release a few good ones for their console and the rest are crap. I don't think it warrants the need to purchase an over-priced sub-par system to experience a few good games.
