if you have enough money, i recommend doing a complete upgrade, to a new cpu, and also a AM2 board that has a 2 x16, and for your ram, check too see if its ddr1 or ddr2
holy smoke, i7 laptop in canada are expensive. My cousin got an i7 laptop 1.6ghz for about 800-900$, might want an i7 instead of a i5, and any 4000 series from ati will do, or 300 model for nvidia. since the laptop has a smaller screen, smaller gpu is require.
