my issue with Arkham's combat was that it felt like I was playing a rhythm game. it looks flashy and stylish, but I never felt in total control of it, only reacting to prompts. it always felt as if I was wating for something to happen and only then reacting.
when I watch gameplays of Spiderman I see lots of interesting elements, like the animations, web slinging, the interactive environments; I also like the idea of having gadgets and all. I'll wait for the reviews and try to give the game a go myself, but I'm afraid the game's combat will put me off.

this is what I dreaded the most. I gather "inspired" doesn't mean it's just the same, but I hated that Arkham's combat so much that I ended up quitting the game cause I couldn't bear it. =/
