I wouldn't touch a used one from Gamestop with a 10 foot pole. Two of my buddies went that route and both of theirs had been banned from Live. I have also read about other people online having the same problems.
Ok, I got through this time. It says "Registration Successful. Thank you for participating!" Is that what everyone else got?
Here's what I got when I tried registering with the above posted method. "There is an issue with registration at this time. Please try again later."
Lazy M$ hasn't updated their site yet. Maybe it will go up at 12 PST, which would be 3 am on the east coast.
