@Anigmar So now it'll be a run of the mill sports game, only playable on consoles...?

@orbit991 Don't forget about the auto spawning monsters appearing all over the place right behind your spell casters to make sure every bit of strategy is utterly and completely destroyed. For stealthy characters try sneaking on monsters that haven't been spawned yet.... DAII, such "fun"... I cannot overstate what a huge pile of dung that game was. The guy responsible for releasing something like that with Bioware's name on it should be fired and banned from ever working in the gaming industry again.

Origins was awesome! Dragon age II was an almost instant uninstall, the worst peace of crap that ever touched my PC's hard drive. After about an hour of playing I was done with it. Total waste of money!! Only bought it because I thought it would be the follow up to Origins. They could have used the origins engine and just build the next chapter of the story for us and call it Dragon age II, but no.. They screwed us over with this crud. If they release DA III, I'm not one to jump on it. I'd have to see stellar reviews from the Baldurs Gate/Icewind Dale/NeverWinter Nights kind of RPG players, who like me enjoyed Origins but hated DA II.

Kurtis, great guide. Nicely done. Good to see there are editors that put some work into making a good guide.

One thing I found was missing was the ability to use faith to buy other great people, like great scientist, great engineer etc by following a certain policy. I think they kick in when you enter the industrial era, so faith is of great use also later in the game.

If Bioware released a 60+ hour stand alone adventure DLC for DAO and charged 60 bucks for it I'd buy it right away! Even the DLCs Leliana's song and Warden's keep gave far more value and entertainment than the whole game of DA2. This is my last post here, I'll play DAO and imagine what DA2 could have been like, then cry myself to sleep..

Why did they make the main character talk? Why oh why?? First they insult my intelligence by making me choose colored icons of Good/Funny/Evil only to hear my character crack some wise ass comment that makes me cringe in agony when I hear what a hopeless dork my "hero" is. Yuk! Give us back the text based replies so I know what I'm responding with. How they interpret my answer in the game engine is none of my business, I just want to give my response as the hero in the game. Most important is that my choices and answers have an effect in the game world, companions and the outcome of the game. There's just so much that's wrong with DA2, I feel cheated on my money as I believed it would be a new version/episode of what DAO gave us and bought it immediately when it was launched. All I can do is give feedback on forums like these. In short if you liked DAO, then don't even think of buying DA2, it's just a really bad game... (At least if you're a real RPG player)

Loved DAO, hated DA2. They rushed it, making it an utter piece of garbage! If they had to rush it they could have used the same game world, races/classes, level progression and graphics engine as DAO, but with a completely new story, there were enough loose ends in the first game to spin off on(maybe playing as/against Morrigans offspring? etc). Put some new characters and companions in, but make sure the majority of the work is put into the story and the choices the player can make. They put their development effort into all the wrong places in DA2, effectively destroying all the things that made DAO so great.

I loved origins and played through it about 5 times. Unfortunately I could not bring myself to play more than a couple of hours into DA2. It's mind numbingly boring. Companions are unimaginative airheads. Monsters spawn and just come in waves. Inventory, and gear is non existent. The graphics doesn't belong in an adventure game at all(a sci-fi engine used in ME2). Why didn't they use the beautiful engine they developed for Origins? I can't possibly bring myself to play through DA2, and the worst part is that it leaves a bad taste in your mouth for anything called "Dragon Age". Their fan base is lost on the piece of crud called DA2. We who loved Baldurs Gate, Plane scape, icewind dale etc, come from a pen and paper background, read books like the Krondor and Lord of the rings trilogies. When I play an adventure game I want to be back in medieval times of knights, wizards, bards, clerics and thieves. I want a good story with authentic graphics. Churning out quick cheap games for kids to be consumed like a quick afternoon snack is nothing for the DA fan base. I can't believe they were so blind and disconnected from their customer base as to dump this can of garbage on us.. Please Bioware, never again!! Recognize that DA2 was crap, apologize, denounce it and make the promise to us fans to never produce anything like that ever again!!! It's the only right thing to do.
