[QUOTE="jockie_chan"][QUOTE="The-Apostle"] This. He was a CFO. Of course it relates to his job.thegerg

no, no it doesn't. If the guy is professional and does his job well when he's at work then this doesn't matter to the employer at all.

If you were a business owner would you hire a Klansman who burns crosses on the weekend and pickets gay weddings on his days off if he did quality work at the office?

It's just like how sandwich buyers decided not to buy sandwiches from Chik-fil-A after it came to light that the President of that company doesn't support gay marraige. It has nothing to do with the quality of the sandwiches, but some people decided they don't want to put money in that guy's pucket.

An employer really has no business going through what their employees do in their personal lives, judging them and subsequently firing them...

So if those actions are completely legal then yes .But pretty sure partaking in Klansman activities is considered a hate crime and in that case it might be cause to sack them.

And the president of chick-fil-a was making a public statement about gay-marriage as the actual president of the company representing the company. This guy on the other hand was definitely not representing his company, in fact no one would have probably known his workplace (or even cared) if their employer didn't take it upon themselves to fire him. .

[QUOTE="maheo30"]I give them my real name. I'm not seeing the humor in providing a fake name. If I worked at a pizza place and someone did that I'd just hang up on them. Might not have my job any longer but I'd be happy. WhiteKnight77

I see no reason why you'd be bothered in the slightest when someone doesn't give you their real name. What makes you needtheir name?

i have no idea why they even ask for your name when you order pizza...

If one is paying with a credit card, one has to give a name. The name has to match what is on the card too.

actually, not true. They don't check if the name matches, I speak from experience.

The fact is, the way this guy chooses to interact with others is very much related to his job. The fact that he finds it acceptable to talk to a stranger like that says a lot about the person he is, and the fact that he would broadcast it to the world online says even more about his poor judgement. he certainly isn't the type of guy I would liker handling my money.

This. He was a CFO. Of course it relates to his job.

I come here asking for help because i see alot of religious and christian threads here in OT.

I have to spread the word, even at the risk of being an outcast and/or rejected by friends, family and strangers. I have to abandon all the sinful things that i used to do. And i have to give God time in the day for the Bible and prayer.

With those basic Christian things aside, the attacks from Satan are difficult too... they are so vicious and mislead me! In the blink of an eye, i find myself doing the things i used to as soon as i put my mind on worldly things... even for a second.

I admit, i fail from time to time, but i do pick myself back up. Its just that sometimes i find it all very overwhelming. Is it more difficult for me because i am a late Christian? meaning that after years of a worldly lifestyle, this sudden change is normal to be difficult on me?

try islam. I hear you aren't allowed to eat or drink for 15 consecutive hours, for everday in the month.

i don't see why he got fired, this is not related to his work in any way... If some dude acts like a dick for 3 minutes in their personal time - that has no bearing on his job.

What makes bosses think that they are in position to punish their employees for stuff they did outside the workplace that are completely unrelated to their job?

I give my real name. It's not like I'm embarassed to be ordering pizza.

When you order a pizza, do you give them your real name when they ask for it?

or do you just make up a fake one?

Go to your chrome preference and set your 'zoom' setting at 100%. If it's more than 100%, it will be a mess just like that.

nice - that was what was throwing the layout off.

it used to be pretty bad, the videos would have text overlayed on the videoplayer, and couldn't really be interacted with

Now it's not so bad
