FoV is there for pirates, too. :P Just take a look at ANY unscrupulous torrenting site, you'd see everyone has the patch now. It was just a problem for people who played the game BEFORE RELEASE, who didn't have the patch because it was not released because the game hadn't even been released, which is a last laugh for pirates, not for devs.
tl;dr -- FC4 story only applies to people who played before release, which is lolz on devs. This is a good way to combat piracy by fabricating a story, but it actually shows us that, with piracy, you can play hotly anticipated games before release, sans one option in the controls that could have probably been changed in the game's setting files in the install folder.
As far as PS4 story, this has been happening since the beginning of price matching, which is why all price matching policies state that they only PM amazon first party.
XB1/PS4 are still light years behind their last gen predecessors, and with hot games still being released for last gen (looking at you, FC4/DA:I), it's not looking any better.
This is a bad review by an amateur reviewer who wanted to make a splash by rating a game differently than everyone else. GameSpot has been this way for several years. The age-old adage from Star Wars -- "Move Along" -- applies here.
