Hey, I have a 360, and I do not own Halo! But I also don't subscribe to gold, so I'm still not the one dude Jess was referring to in that Microsoft segment. Sad.
I'd kind of like to try that Valve controller. I play shooters on PC because I like the accuracy and ease of mouse control. Their little disks looks like they might be more precise than the analog sticks on the current gen consoles. Interesting...
I'm glad you're trying this Danny. I wish I could say that I thought it would work, but I admire you for trying. Its like you have the job of exposing the dark heart of gaming in 5 minute segments. Like the DOTA2 gaming addiction piece....
I personally hate all the nasty comments. I always preferred GameSpot to other game sites in part because the community was at least incrementally more mature. Its hard to imagine how you run a profitable game site without teenage boys in your audience. (Especially when you kill our ability to have paid subscriptions anymore, a move I'm still deeply bitter about.) So how do you scrub the discourse without scrubbing significant user base? I hope we can figure it out.

I don't necessarily consider myself a feminist per se, but there are some reprehensible bits of various games, certainly GTA5 among them. If I was really serious about those issues I think I would want to steer clear of reviewing those games. Write a separate editorial or something. I suppose she must really enjoy the genre, or specifically wants to tackle the issue head-on. shrug.
@ShadowNeverDies Interesting question. If they got that budget _tomorrow_ it probably wouldn't work out. Can't scale up to over 4X your current size with double the development time and just magically produce. But I get what you are driving at. They could tighten up all the gameplay controls, improve the graphics (as much as current gen consoles will allow), flesh out the missions, improve the voice acting, add even more content, larger city, more details, more time nailing game balance, etc, etc. But I bet it would still be over-the-top parody.
@frylock1987 @LADIES_MAN_2013 They aren't even trying to compete with GTA 5. They just want to free ride on some of the ABSURD marketing outlay of GTA 5 to make a joke and get a few bucks on amusing DLC. Can't say I blame them.
@frylock1987 SR4 is actually exceeding company expectations, I believe. Its sales figures are a rounding error for a game like GTA, but they also make it for a fraction of the cost so....
@Stesilaus @Zloth2 Play to your audience, right? Grand strategy players are patient, they'll read. And nobody on the home page is clicking through because of the kickass screenshot of little soldiers marching on a really complicated looking map.
