@devilmaycryyyy: Don't worry. I'm sure you'll catch up. If XBOX doesn't kick PS ass from time to time like no one did during PS2 era, we gonna have a pathetic PS5 launch. For the gamers sake, go pressure MS to make up the loss of Scalebound.

I can get a brand new PS4 for 300$.... And that's the most expensive choice. Amazon's Uncharted bundle only cost 269$. Does US started another QE?

@BassMan: Actually you do. You can't feel the magic if you never play the ending part of Brothers: Tale of Two Sons. The review must be an opinion of the whole gaming experience.

However, I don't agree this is a man power issue. The problem is about standard and I mean scientifically strict standard, which is can't exist for a game review. If the review score has to be a combined score of multiple reviewers then we need a standard of score for every aspect of a game. Like how gymnastic's scoring system work in Olympics.

Let's make a simple example by scoring plot, gameplay and visual/sound effect desperately. And the problem starts. What is the percentage of these three sub-scores should take? 50% for plot and 25% for the rest? In this case, Super Mario Galaxy can only get a mediocre score since it should get no score for plot. Even a non Nintendo gamer like me can't approve that.

What about gameplay take the first priority? The victim turns to Heavy Rain, The Last Guardian... And DICE can rule the GOTY forever if visual and sound effect take the first place. Do you see the problem now? Video game is just a really modern form of art. The experience of certain game can be hugely different for everyone. It's contradicted to make a perfect scoring formula. The harder you try to perfect it the more exceptions you get. So the only standard is how much the reviewer enjoy the game in personal aspect?

There's nothing wrong with any of the review scores on this site. You can agree or disagree with any of it all you want. The only thing wrong is we take the score too seriously and even distort the meaning of the score. When you're looking for game reviews, look for the reviewer who has similar taste with you. If you can't find one. Start reviewing yourself can be a good idea. I believe that's how Angry Joe started his channel since no gaming website ever include price as consideration.

@hushed_kasket: Very good and decent opinion I must say. However, comparing different games by review score is totally pointless. The score is given by the reviewers which has different standard. No Man's Sky is reviewed by Peter Brown, a Nintendo and Metal Gear fan, Watch Dogs is by Kevin Vanord, a reviewer loves playing RPG and he can bare more gamplay flaws if the game has a outstanding atmosphere, Just Cause 3 is by Mike Mahardy, encourages creativity a bit more than other reviewers, and AC: Syndicate is by Alexa Ray Corriea which I rather not talk about....
The score could be a lot different by different reviewers. There's no such standard to measure what features can get certain amount of point. It doesn't work like that. Even the same reviewer could have a score that's out of your expectation, as you can see they have different taste of video games. You can disagree with the score or the review and left your own opinion which you did great on this one, but don't try to make your point by comparing scores. The Internet need more comments like yours but not meaningless number fights.

The only and the very last show that is decent and never ruined by movie topic is now gone. Great job on turning into IGN 2.0, Gamespot.

The last place where I don't have to stand for movie stuff on this site. I'm wondering how long will it last.
