To start off this guy needs to talk to avid gamers before jumping to this conclusion. You look at current Digital Download models and you can clearly see that price as the same as the packaged version (software, box, and manual). Secondly the moment consoles go to digital download only, what do you think will happen to game stores like GameStop? They make their profit strictly on buying and selling used games (granted they do ,for the most part, rip you off.) There are still a lot of gamers out there that enjoy the collection factor of having a box,game dvd, and user manual to add to their collection instead of a print out with a code on it to download a game. And lastly, the whole Digital download and DRM idea and utterly stupid to require for games. These gaming companies would really shoot themselves in the foot because there is still a LARGE population that either does not have internet access, or the internet access is to horribly slow to download a 8gig or more game. Just what I always wanted, 2 years to download 1 game! This whole concept will NEVER work until every area of the world has high speed internet AND UNLIMITED DATA INTERNET. Most companies still have a data limit on their highspeed internet. For instance ATT's DLS is 150gig a month and UVERSE is 250gig. That is still alot of data but when you start downloading multiple games, stream movies online, and general day to day use of internet it adds up.
