@tormentos: Before Nintendo, people couldnt figure out how to walk in 3D. It changed gaming forever.

You specifically said that people couldn't figure out how to move prior to Nintendo. I gave an example that shows the contrary and you move the goal posts. How about saying what you truly mean instead of changing your argument when you're proven wrong?

O my bad, i didnt mean literally. I just meant Mario 64 changed how we navigate 3D environments with its amazing camera use. We use to walk like tanks in 3D gaming, then after Mario 64, the industry has since copied its style and its still used today. Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, etc all copied Mario 64. No longer would they use the tank controls.

No worries, man. I was just incredibly confused.

Nintendo has done more and changed more in gaming overall, but Microsoft has done more and changed more since the inception of the original Xbox.

I don't think any company since 2001 has actually been as influential as Microsoft in the video game/hardware industry.

You're right. I think Mircosoft has been incredibly influential. They've shown how to mismanage their first party development studios which ultimately leads to closure.

Bravo.

1995 Delphine Software made Fade to Black for PC DOS. Super Mario 64 released a year later.

@darkangel115: No one stole anything. You obviously expressed some difficulty in putting a sentence together before so I was merely helping you out.

@GreySeal9: dude, he's talked about food and disease to try and prove his point. I wouldn't put it past him to pull something out of his ass.

Disliking an art styles is an absolutely rational and valid reason for not wanting to play a game. Being video games, art styles are major components and if an art style looks too silly for a person to enjoy, then it's totally valid for that person. I personally can't stand that art style myself, it's too silly and looks ridiculous to me. Couple that with the fact that the JRPG's I have played with these art style typically have the types of characters that I find painful to listen too (over emotional, annoying voices, etc), there's no point in me even playing them. I simply do not enjoy that style of game regardless of mechanics.

I wonder how many of you crap on stuff like Gears of War for it's 'bros in huge armor' style...

Here's the thing though, there is a difference in criticizing a game based on it mechanics, art style, ect , but you are currently not doing that. You are making large sweeping generalizations about a genre to critique a game you have not played and have no reasonable knowledge to support your claims. If you dont like an art style thats fine, but when you go around making assumptions based on prejudices of a genre, it only serves to show people you have no idea what you are talking about.

For GoW, I'll admit that mussel bound tough guys in another shooter doesn't interest me. That doesnt mean its a bad game. How will I know until I try the game out? You will not see me condemning a game based on m prejudices.

lol it's system wars that's all everyone here does for the most part. Look at Ryse, or the order, or halo , or any exclusive and you get people trashing it who never played it. That's not what I'm doing. I know how JRPGs are and I don't like anything about them, and I don't like anything about anime.

I know you are right, but my opinion is different so I'm going to make stupid posts at you

I know you are right, but my opinion is different so I'm going to make my stupid posts and troll you, anyway.

Now, it's fixed.
