@jaydan: Xenoblade is practically a stealth game with how easy it is to aggro high leveled enemies from across the map.

Hopefully Gamefreak doesn't take too much inspiration from that.

I am talking about the world set-up specifically, how it seems to be a more open-ended world and a variety of Pokemon including ones that can kick your ass early on at such a high level. I kinda enjoy that.

Xenoblade is a more challenging game but I think Pokemon can take a more accessible approach that can make both the core gamer's looking for a challenge and the casuals happy

Makes me wonder if Gamefreak got influence from the Xenoblade Chronicles series since it's very similar how you can encounter high leveled monsters at any point in the game.

Mario+Rabbids is one of those original gems on the Switch more people should give a chance. For $16 that is a steal.

@X_CAPCOM_X: I just think Battlefield is a much better military shooter franchise than Call of Duty. I got worn out of CoD. I fondly remember the original trilogy, and then Modern Warfare. But once Modern Warfare 2 came out my liking for the series deteriorating.

Mario Kart is just fine the way it is. It's a party racer, and it does not have to be anything else than that. If you seriously want a technical racer then play Forza or any other sim racer. Mario Kart is just meant to be fun and make people scream at each other and it succeeds at that. With that said, the game design is not poor at all because it's exactly what it's meant to be, the correction is its game design is just not your forte.

The last time I genuinely got absorbed in a Mario Kart game was the one on the DS, so it's been many years for me. I don't look down on the series because I'm not into it anymore. I understand the newer games are there for new gens to enjoy.

I'll correct my spiteful response and say Call of Duty is not a trash series. It's still around for a reason, but it's just a series I moved on from as well.

@lion2447: I actually did not take screen cheating into consideration with my post, but I can see how that can be a bother. But even on your own you can look at the map and how close your opponents are and make a call to break depending on how close they are. You can also play the game of 2nd place and necking close behind the 1st place racer and wait for them to get nuked by the shell.

Mario Kart can really be a game of risk-and-reward. Is it worth dominating 1st if it makes you the bigger target or is it worth dancing around different places and getting a higher probability of better items?

@X_CAPCOM_X: It's not trash game design. Mario Kart is not Forza and it does not strive to be. It's a party game, and that's just how it succeeds as one.

I'm not a big Mario Kart fan although I've had my fun with the series from year's past. While it's seemingly a game of chance, you can take chance on your side.

I think Call of Duty is a trash series and was last relevant in my life with the first Modern Warfare, but to each their own.

@auron11022: Luck can be used as an advantage in a Mario Kart game as well. For example: if you choose to be in 1st place for the entire race you risk getting the blue shell. When that happens I might pull my breaks to be within the proximity of the racers behind me so they take the hit as well. You can play with luck by not being in 1st place to get a chance of better items that will put you in 1st place at the right moment.

A lot of people seem to think there's no strategy behind a Mario Kart game and it's all a random game of chance, but the reality there's an out-of-box way of strategy for a racing game I don't think everyone utilizes.

Sometimes to assure winning in these games, it's a better strategy to have the losing edge to ensure a greater chance at victory.
