@mucking_foron Not all games are the same. Some are very complex, strategic, and fast paced. Have you ever played SC2?

@Saidrex @ACLDox @Nibraybirk Go get to GM in SC2 and then say that it isn't work.

@aovannor @jagriff333 Err, no. I've been following eSports for several years and never once heard someone in the scene refer to them as athletes. They're called progamers. US laws recognize them as athletes for logistical reasons. There have been big problems with foreign (mostly Chinese) players getting visas to attend tournaments in the US and Europe.

@erMonezza No one's calling them athletes. Try getting into GM in Starcraft 2 and you'll see why people say "train" and "practice". It is insanely difficult and competitive.

@simonbarfod The amount of work that goes into playing a game like starcraft can be comparable to the work that professional athletes put forth. The players actually spend more time per day practicing than athletes do. Yeah, it's not physical exercise, but they are constantly learning new strategies and improving their mechanics. It's not like he's playing some mindless game like COD.

He's a loser, yet he makes a lot of money and is one of the best in the world at something he loves? I hope one day I can become a loser too! It's not that he has too much time on his hands. It's his job. He is paid to play everyday on top of his tournaments winnings.

I guess all athletes are wasting their time because eventually they'll not be good at anything?

@unreal101 @alphardxyz He's saying that after a year, some of the people commenting here will mature. They may learn to not immediately turn disinterest into contempt.

@SerOlmy I remember as a kid I would get in arguments about what were "real sports". I always argued for football and baseball as they were my favorites. A few years later I realized I was stupid. Just wait a few years and you'll mature too.

@SerOlmy Yes and you are entitled to have publishers making games specifically for you, correct? I don't see anyone telling you how to spend your money.

@SerOlmy You don't see me on reality TV show forums bashing what I see crappy as excuses for entertainment, do you? I can understand the disinterest. Why the hate?

Congrats to Innovation and Acer! I can't wait to see Innovation at more foreign tournaments!

To the children making fun of Innovation: Learn a little about what he does. He plays one of the most difficult games in the world at the highest level. To do this he has been practicing 10 hours a day for years and continues to do so. Have some respect for the hard work and achievements of others even if you don't enjoy watching SC2 or competition in general.
