According to the Bible, absolutely. The god of the Bible is an absolute monster. A true symbol of tyranny and villainy. Sometimes I wonder if the Christians who claim their god is so loving and merciful actual read the Bible, because the god featured in there is nothing but a tyrant.

Was browsing around when I found this Reddit.

And this informative comment ....

I've had a lot of experience with the Bible, having gone to religious schools until I attended a public University.

That said, I've thought a lot about Lucifer and his role in Christian mythology, and he really gets a bad rap.

First of all, the visual depictions of the pointy-haired devilish demon creatures torturing humans were entirely the conceptions of artists and writers centuries ago, such as Dante.

Lucifer was an angel who disagreed with God. His only real crime was challenging God's authority and supposed omniscience. For this, he was cast out of heaven along with other angels who agreed with him.

If you read the Bible closely, Lucifer's only actual behavior is to influence people to think for themselves and challenge what God tells them to do. He reminds them that they are not slaves to God's demands, and that they have free will. Many of the mentions of "Satan" in the Bible talk about him 'behind his back" if you will, and are not actual appearances by Lucifer himself.

This FB post makes a very good point inasmuch as the Serpent in the Garden (as Lucifer) only pointed out to Eve that she had free will, and to eat the fruit would mean she would actually become aware of her surroundings instead of being a mindless drone. Eve had a choice.

This is what true Satanists are about, the worship of humanity and free will. They celebrate being human and everything it has to offer, whether it be intelligence, sexuality, independence, etc.

Personally, I'd much rather get behind a deity which encouraged me to think and make my own choices, rather than one that demands I follow his orders and acts like a three-year-old when I don't comply.

I really believe that Lucifer is supposed to be a mythological embodiment of that contradiction which so annoys me in Christianity: the reconciliation between free will and obeying God. "If your logic center kicks in and starts to question what the church tells you, that's 'Satan'! Satan is the one in the Bible who tells people to think for themselves. Sure you have free will, as long as it doesn't go against what we tell you to do." Barf.smashchamp

Apparently we as humans should favor Lucifer and not God... Rofl, religion gets funnier by the day.

book of job tells how cruel god can be....he allows satan to test his faith and the dudes family is destroyed and yet he has faith in god..SMH...the bible is so full of contradictions one has nowhere to begin with explaining it...ppl just get the "jist" of it and follow along because it is human nature to do so...they say god is merciful and unvengeful...yet innocent men women and children die every day..and ppl say it is gods plan...on the other hand if you sin and die before "getting forgiveness" (BS)..you go to hell hmm vengeful? yea whatever...just believe whats trule to yourself and you will do just fine...heaven or hell makes no difference to me..I will die and someday hopefully a nice big oak tree will grow over my grave...on earth death brings life; that is the true cycle of this world...

God blessed Job for proving his faith, giving him double of whatever he had lost. That doesn't sound very cruel

LOLOLOL really? ok let my family die so I have nothing left (and what did he get double BTW?) would you trade in your family for "this double" that you speak of?? what I thought...thanks alot AHOLE...what a nice "god"..I dont even capitalized that fictional characters name...LMAO

I dont understand, God has things that he needs to do with humanity, not time to be judged by people that dont understand the reason why he did those things. And if Job still loved him, what does that say about you? "heaven or hell makes no difference to me." It sure is heck will to the people who will go down there the second they feel it, and then realize that its an eternity.

doesnt have time??? whaaa? as a believer is god not with you at all times??

and what do you mean what does that say about you?? I dont get that part...that is what is in the bible..those arent my feelings..I personally could care less...but the topic starter was asking, and I gave an example...I could go for hours if you really want, but it is pointless cause everyone I argue with...and I mean everyone...there last comment is always..IT IS ALL ABOUT FAITH...SMFH...thats why I usually stay away from religous topics...zzzz...

I'd go with SMGs for close quarter combat and ARs for medium to longer range combat. I would also reccomend trying an objective based mode and trying to either play the objective well or kill those who are distracted with the objective. Also, if possible, get a friend who is better than you to play on your team with you.

bmart970

LOL objective based or do you mean camper modes...thats all losers do in objective mode is cammmmmpppp...he'll get murdered...play TDM and get better famililar with maps try to follow teammates into a conflict and see what happens most ppl (like myself) have a habbit of reloading after a kill, thats when you kill...dont huddle up like a bunch of retards tho...FFA isnt bad either if you get a good rotation going on killing ppl...

Via nanotechnology, cloning organs, uploading your mind to a computer/internet/whatever,etc. Is there any chance of these methods of attaining immortality being widely available soon, perhaps within the next 50 years or so?

Laihendi

As long as the united states is run by religious presidents...NO...but right now with stem cell research and nano technology "near" immortality is possible...but religion trumps any science when the governments running the country are in power...

Obama for now is like George Bush Jr; Obama has not done anything that radical.

Oh, and for the trailer it said "Our founding fathers wanted liberty", please. America has been overthrowing leaders in Latin America, putting in dictators, torturing SUSPECTS in offshore bases, and taking the rights of its own citizens.

worlock77

not being rude at all so dont take it the wrong way...but what leaders in Latin America did the US overthrow? And what dictators did they "put in power"?

In this list you'll note several in Latin America, and many more worldwide.

that was some good info..really it was I never knew alot of that...but in SA most were "just" IMO also most in other cases were in the right as well...you cant hate america for trying to do what is right...no we should not be the police of the world, but when something is wrong with the wrong ppl in power of a country that has a substational military the US (and others) should intervene I think...The wrong ppl in the right places only causes trouble not just for the US, but for its people and potentionally the rest of the world..so that is where the US has to step in and try to make right..are they always right?...perhaps during the cold war they may have been a little paranoid about communism..but at least they step up and try..
