my main concern was the severe lack of player choice during the end game. as long as they solve that, the rest of the nonsense about the star child might be easier to swallow. truthfully, i don't really like bashing other peoples work, no matter what problems i have with it. it is still their project and accomplishment, but i don't think i'm alone when i say more clarification is needed.
it's like ending 'return of the jedi' just before vader makes his decision to kill the emperor. then inserting shots of the rebel ships fleeing the death star for some reason. don't forget to include a random scene of an old man telling a story about "the skywalker".
i play games for story, characters, exploration and customization. challenging gameplay that requires thought and tactics is fine when it suits the story (batman hunting criminals). playing as a high leveled nigh-invincible character that isn't able to wade through brain dead bullet sponge AI that halter my story progress? no, thank you, i want my next dialogue tree.but some people like the punishment and want to keep trying again and again. me, i don't have enough windows to throw my controllers through.
@Morelen1 that's a generalization of games and younger gamers.if i were you, i'd throw in a comment about female gamers and what they play, just to balance out the offense. haha
@HitmanDante yes, it's true that there are other stories to tell. i'm just worried that it will blend in with other games if they don't highlight the unique things about the universe. then again, the force is probably just some jedi hocus pocus to these guys anyway. that would be a great angle to see. people who think the jedi are just uncaring religious nuts. then we can kill them with a lightsaber.i mean...*sigh*...i miss KOTOR.
@DAOWAce i agree with this. a jedi/sith rpg like the KOTOR games is what i would have prefered. not another cover based, third person shooter...or a star wars version of dead space.
of course there is an issue. there will always be sexist, racist people, but we can't knock on everyone's door and tell them to be nice.
i'm not annoyed by the way men are portrayed because i don't care about it. i only bring it up as a comparison to show that these things can work both ways.
this is an issue we should have moved past by now. not because it's not important, but because it should be solved already. eventually, a woman who wants to get married and have a family will be looked down upon for not being free or whatever. i've already seen that, which is why i think all of this complex stuff should be left up to the individual.
