@naruto945: It is mostly implied due to the size of the universe. The size of the procedurally generated universe means that the developer estimate that it would take a single player 5 billion years to visit every planet for only 1 second per planet.
@TERMINATOR-SSD: The game is online always, but the universe is so big it is unlikely you will ever meet another player. You'll only see evidence that they were there.
@chuckles471 Hey, I was looking for someone saying this. There isn't really any correlation between mass murder and an inability to love or care for another human being.
It is written in to the EULA that everyone agrees to when you install the game. The EA published Battlefield 4 EULA for example states
"Your right to use the Software is limited to the license grant above, and you may not otherwise copy, display, seek to disable, distribute, perform, publish, modify, create works from, or use the Software or any component of it, except as expressly authorized by EA"
Grow up. She's a professional journalist. She reviewed a game well and you're pissed because you happen to like the game. Oh, and because she is female.
How is the bias in tact? She disliked and stated she disliked the single player due to the characters and the story (all true and I am not disputing that). But none of this applies to the Online element. She clearly states in the review that she enjoys the game online and has had fun. But she also clearly states that it is borked in its free form entity due to PVP.
Of course it isn't fair that you've had to grind for a weapon that is now free to a level 1. I don't agree with that at all.
As for harshness, that isn't what GTA is about. It never has been, it is meant to be a blast of silliness and the open world encourages you to engage in everything it has to offer. But as most new entrants to the game world will attest, people don't do that. They just want to punish you for being a new player and that is what turns people away and why Carolyn gave the review she did. I'd love to have had some epic moments in the game, driving along the coastal highway at sunset, robbing stores with another player and splitting the loot. But it doesn't happen, unless you have a crew of friends you can arrange to hook up with online.
As for crying, I've never done that. When I got frustrated at the game and it's imbalance I did the sensible thing. I stopped playing.
I agree, it was never right for me. Or the masses of others turned off by it. Double XP weekends and the like are fine for games like COD but in this game the balance is always off and it is probably too late to fix it.
To be honest, I MUCH prefer the single player and am happy with that and I'll do all my online naughtiness in PD2
