@3Minotaur3 it's not that people play games to escape their reality. people who hate their current life and play games might think of games as an escape. the real aim of a game is to provide the gamer with an "exotic experience" it's to put you in someone else's shoes, be it kratos, master chief or a call center guy, they are all possibilities when you step into the realm of that which is made by people.
@corteztheg with all due respect, she is entitled to write about her experience in games that break the genres usual themes and aims. I do think though that reading your comment was a waste of time, just as you wasted time in writing such a... poor point of view, a valid point of view but nonetheless plain dumb and completely missing the point.
@SlashHalberd you do understand that human behavior is often categorized into different types right? be it in psychology, marketing or even biology. everyone, being an expert or just another average person, puts you and everything that happens in different groups so that they may better understand the workings of reality. It is not pretentious to try to make certain generalizations in the behavior of gamers yet it IS pretentious to claim ones complete individuality.
