Thanks but the bad axe bios configuration looks much different. I'm not being lazy, I just cant find a step-by-step guide using the bad axe motherboard. If anyone can find one of these, or point me in the right direction, it would be of great help. Like a said, I'm a noob at this.

Hi,

I was wondering how to overclock my cpu. I have a e6700 core 2 duo (2.6ghz) and a 975xbx ( bad axe) motherboard. I've never overclocked anything before so I really don't know where to start. I've also heard that it's hard to overclock on this motherboard. I'm not looking for anything major, maybe just overclock it to 3.0-3.2 ghz. Does anyone know where I can find a step-by-step guide or anyone want to give me steps? Any help is greatly appreciated and remember this will be the first time that I've tried this.

P.S. Also will I have to buy another cpu fan to do this?

Thanks a bunch, it worked like a charm. Just curious, does this work for any game?

Hi,

My monitor is has never had a problem, but today, i tried to change the resolution in half life 2 ep. 2, and now my monitor says "out of frequency". When i go back to the desktop or run any other program, everything is fine. So its good for everything else except the half life 2 problem. The problem is, i cant see the menu in the game to change the resolution because of the "out of frequency" problem. I just wanted to know if there is someway to change it back or something without having to see the menu. One other thing, I purchased half life 2 ep.2 through steam and have already tried re-installing it and it still does the same thing. Any suggestions?

Hi,

I purchased a Visiontek 3870 gx2 recently and am now having problems. I dont know if its the gpu or something that I might have done. After installing the card, I downloaded the 8.1 drivers from the ATI website. Now, most of the games that i run are really choppy. Most of these games shouldnt be a problem to run but they are for some reason. Some of the games that run crappy are Rainbow Six Vegas, Call of Duty 4, Half Life 2, and of course Crysis(on medium settings). I have Windows Vista Business 32-bit, 3 gb ram, Intel core 2 6700 @ 2.6 ghz, and 500 gb hdd. Again, i'm pretty sure everything is connected properly but i guess i could've done something wrong. Any help is appreciated in advance. I am somewhat a noob.

Hi,

Question for ya. I have 4 gb of ram installed on motherboard and bios detects it but windows doesnt. When I go to system properties, it says that i only have 3 gb of ram. Can anyone tell me the reason for this and how to fix it?

Hi,

I also had this problem. I went to evenbalance.com and downloaded the pbsetup file. After this, you can manually update CoD4 punkbuster files. Afterwards, everything worked fine.
