Who whoa GameSpot...I understand that there are a lot of ppl out there who believe that fighting sticks are absolutely 100% necessary to play fighting games.....but is that really a reason to say things about a controller's d-pad that are false? You said that the D-pad on the DS3 doesn't have enough space for the thumb to do half-circles and full circles. Eh....excuse me? The d-pad is structured so that your finger can EASILY glide across all of the buttons to make those movements. That is the idea of having a 'recessed' d-pad; an easier way to move your fingers around. The Xbox 360's d-pad, however, just plain out sucks, though; at least you got that one right. I haven't played Street Fighter 4 specifically on Xbox 360, but I have played it at an arcade, and my fellow Xbox360 owners, I strongly URGE you to buy yourself an arcade stick if you plan on buying this game. Because I just can't imagine how hard it would be to play someone online with that horrible thing.

Bravo GameSpot BRAVO! I see what you did there! To make an article that seemingly compared which console has better graphics, you compared the same games on both consoles! ...but wait! Isn't the Xbox 360 the lead platform in ALL of those games (maybe not Dead Space...)? Aww, c'mon GS that's playin it dirty; at least put Mirror's Edge in there for some real competition. When you want to compare which console has the best graphics, you compare EXCLUSIVES. Why? Because EXCLUSIVES are the games that push what a system can do, not multiplats. A comparison of MGS4's graphcis to Gears of War 2's graphics would show which system has better graphics. And i don't think I need to remind you which of those 2 games looks superior (here's a hint; it's not Gears 2). A game is obviously going to look slightly better on one platform if it is the LEAD platform. It goes for these games, and it goes for Mirror's Edge as well. You are proving absolutely NOTHING in this article. Make yourself a useful article showing PS3's best (Uncharted, MGS4) to 360's best (Gears 2).

its funny, i had my friend bring over his xbox 360 elite, and we both had Burnout, Assasin's Creed, Madden 08, COD4, and (of COURSE!) GTA 4, let me tell you the TRUE differences, from actual experience of SEEING THE GAMES SIDE-BY-SIDE ON TWO SONY BRAVIA "42 HDTVS 1) Burnout Paradise- these two games were, iwould say 99.9% equivalent. the only .01% goes to the fact that we noticed the the smoke coming off the tires when you make a hard turn looked slighty more realistic on ps3, but seriousy, hardly noticable. i was impressed. 2) Assasin's Creed - this game looked good on both consoles, but i had to give this one to 360. it wasn't that it was blurry or anything, but the 360 had more vibrant colors; contrast looked a bit off on ps3, and the sharper, livelier colors on 360 aided it to have crisper textures. the differences were slim, but not THAT slim. the 360 won assasin's creed. 3) Madden 08 - again, the 360 won this round. the 30fps on ps3 werent noticable during actual gameplay, but they were noticable directly when a cutscene started: on 360, a cutscene would start DIRECTLY after the play was over/ the guy was tackled. on ps3, there'd be a 1-2 second pause, then go to the cutscene. this was actually noticable. also, during those cutscenes, one thing that really got to us were the somewhat blurry backgrounds on ps3. the 360 just showed some nicely sharper players, but ps3's backgrounds were a bit blury. actual gameplay was nearly identical except the actual smoothness of 360 was better. players run more realistic on 360, and the cutscenes made our differences a bit easier to see. the 360 won madden as well. 4) COD4 - EXACTLY THE SAME! PERIOD! i mean, seriously guys, there are absolutely NO differenced between the two. none. zip. nada. NOTHING! looked great on both systems! Nince JOB infinity ward! finally, the hardest one of them all 5) GTA 4 - this was complicated. the ps3 had warmer colors than the 360, which made the weather conditions such as sunsets and bright mornings look better on ps3. the 360, however, did have brighter colors (however, you adjust brightess from the start menu of the game, so its not an advantage). the ps3 also had much better anti-aliiasing. the little jagged liines on moving cars were hardly noticable on ps3, while it was a bit more noticable on 360. however, the 360 did not have as many little moments of blur as the ps3 did, so that was an slight advantage. but what really sealed the deal for the ps3 was that the framerate dropped waay too much on 360; thats not to say it was perfect on ps3, but it kept a solid framerate much more than the 360 did. the most noticable of the flaws between the two was pop-in. the 360 suffers from it dramatically, while ps3 doesnt have as much, but seriously, when we played the 360 version, pop-in would sometimes reach a point that would really annoy us. so in a nutshell, the ps3 had better framerate, better anti-aliasing, warmer colors for a more realistic look, smoother textures, less load times, and less pop-in. 360 only had brighter colors going its way. IGN was not lying; i tested the 2 games myself, and the ps3 won in graphics. if u dont believe me, fine w/ me, all i know is that this is the truth, as i did the test myself. hope this helped!

that's funny... last time i checked, about 10 websites agreed with IGN saying the PS3 outdoes the 360 in graphics. the 640p is actually better for the anti-ailasing. and if thats not enough proof 4 ya, in an interview w/ 1up, rockstar founder Sam Houser himself said that he likes the ps3 verson better. and second of all, when you want to see which console can handle the best graphics, then you look at EXCLUSIVES! because developers can get all that they can out of that ONE SYSTEM! whenever there's a multiplatform game, its made first on 360, then PORTED to ps3, so you should expect 360 to have a slight advantage. but y do developers make it on 360 first? bcuz if they make it on ps3 first, they might go too far to a point the 360 just can't handle, so they have to limit its capabilities by making it on 360 first. but when you look at exclusives, PS3 beats 360 hands down. Uncharted Drakes Fortune? Awesome. Ratchet and Clank? great. Gran Turismo 5 prologue? freakin sweet! damn i wish that ppl who say "360 has better graphics" actually knew what they were talking about b4 they actually start running their mouths off.

nice review gamespot, thanx! but juss one thing: i guess its obvious to compare this to the 360 controller, but can someone who actually HAS the controller (or knows a hell of a lot of info about it) tell me if its just as satisfying as the ps2 controller? bcuz i thought that the dualshock 2 had the best rumble in the world. if the dualshock3 is better, then ill get it, no question
