So far the loot table has been VERY generous on console. Maybe because I have suffered the PC version too much that this seems generous to me. I am level 33 in two days of playing (total about 5 hours) and 80% of my gears are all legendary, albeit low level ones.

But this definitely encourages story progression as well as create certain level of confidence to challenge higher difficulties.

I will never forget the suffering of D3 initial launch on PC where you will die with 1 hit from a critter since it is so damn hard to get anything worthwhile, especially for casual gamers.

The legendary items have the orange "lights from heaven" type of effect so when I killed Diablo, two of those lights shot across my TV screen it did feel like I won a prize on a slot machine. The time invested vs psychological reward has been worthwhile.

This game is heavily dependent on gears but gear grinds lose their appeal very quickly. If grind was the gaming way of late 90s to early 2000s (D2, WoW etc), then now it is about dynamic gaming with individualized gaming goals. I think BLizzard is doing a good job at transitioning the focus from gears-only to gears-dependent high level gameplay. I cannot wait for greater rift and seasons to be introduced on console servers as well!

I think the biggest difference right now (aside from the basic fundamental difference of using a controller vs a mouse) is the introduction of evade capability on console. This is something, especially for my Demon Hunter, incredible from a balance perspective. Luckily everyone has this ability so it is a fair improvement overall. Compared this to the PC version, this change has vastly improved the sustainability of every character in drawn out fights.

I think for squishy character such as Demon Hunter (the most squishy?) the benefit is far more effective than that of other characters'. Prior to this new mechanism, you can only achieve the same maneuver by using the precious discipline points on skills such as vault and smoke screen.

This truly shows that the game mechanism is designed with console experience in mind.

@BrunoBRS @hangeer @Max_160 I suspected as much but it just killed my appetite for "computer+games" altogether. Now that we talked about this, i should cancel my subscription for FF14 on PS4. Been 5 months and played like twice. Look what nostalgia can do to you.

@Max_160 @hangeer Because I had the courage to experience the horror of the Diablo 3 initial launch on my Mac.

@Gencic Not to mention drops increase! I got a legendary ring already. And it is on a TV screen, a little less suicidal on the eyes.

Bought this yesterday and I have to say, the game play feels pleasantly different and yet better.

The best way to describe this is that D3 on console captured the console gaming feeling. I am pretty impressed. I have to say I do like this better than the PC version. Thumb up!
