i honestly think Crysis was overhyped. i can run the game on medium settings but it just doesnt look that great. even when i get an 8800 i wont buy crysis for full price, ill wait until it comes down. it was a big turn off when i played the demo and realized the gameplay really wasnt all that great. also, the multiplayer is lacking and the single-player campaign can only be fun for so long. just like farcry...it got high ratings but the single player got old and the multiplayer just wasnt very fun. cod4 multiplayer is so in depth it keeps people coming back (they need that next level baby). unlocking perks, new weapons and attachments and completing challenges is just so rewarding. i doubt its the fact people dont have rigs to run the game because i just saw a steam survey that put 40% of rigs with dual cores and 7900's with 2 gigs of ram or better. this means 40% of most gamers could run the game on low-medium settings no problem.

it was working perfectly before i downloaded the COD 4 demo...this is driving me nuts because now i cant play any games...

you cant play any games? wait...other games are having this issue or just cod4 demo? also, try rolling back your audio drivers, you said something about updating them. did the issue occure before or after you installed the new audio drivers?

anyways, back on topic...i played the demo about 15 times through, its really intense and it has the old feel of the first cod games (which gave me a very promising nostalgic cod feeling) the single player will be a once through but the multiplayer will make it stick for a while. i also think its cool how they have the the feature which you can customize your character, guns etc. ill probably buy this and crysis myself and convince the gf to buy me gears of war for christmas :D. the demo deffinately got me interested enough to make me want to buy the game.
dude, i have no idea what you are talking about. i barley used the gravity gun in the HL2 series at all...its not like you're forced to use it throughout the entire game, what a pointless rant. just dont use the damn thing if you dont like it, if you have to use it for a couple puzzles here and there whats the big deal? even in multiplayer more people kill/get killed by guns than they do by flying objects. i just dont see the harm, its such a unique and interesting aspect in the series.
well whatever i sent 6/8 invites succesfully so...i dont know what the deal is. this union thing is so strict and disorganized...make it better gamespot!!!!
