@norwali A graphics comparison counts under review embargoes- all Xbox One games are under embargo until presumably the week after PS4 launches - though it does smell like lack of confidence to a degree.

@dbene I played the PS4 version a few months ago at a convention- it looks a LOT better than current gen AC games dude, seeing them in an internet video doesn't have the same effect as seeing it running native on an HDTV in person, trust me.

This might be a bit biased as I am huge Batman fan, but this is my favourite of the Arkham games.

Carolyn isn't wrong in the sense that it doesn't bring much to the table that is innovative over Arkham City, but after a flashback sequence involving the Joker I played last night, I am officially blown away by the story telling in the game. This isn't a cash in prequel- a lot of love was put into this. If you think of it as a massive, $60 expansion pack (a term which probably dates me) for Arkham City, this game succeeds across the board. I can't wait for the inevitable next gen sequel that likely will push the envelope (maybe finally throwing the Batmobile into the mix and giving us a full, massive, open world Gotham?) but in the meantime, this is a great way to send of one of the great game series of this generation and DEFINITELY worth the $60.

@meatz666 Yeah that's why I thought to mention it - at least it was relevant to one person! We should start a thread on the Batman Arkham facebook page asking for them to patch it in. The cinematics in Arkham City in particularly were beautiful in 3D

I know this doesn't apply to everyone, but I'm a bit bummed there isn't a native 3DTV mode like Arkham City had. Arkham City and Gears of War 3 had interesting 3D modes that (at least on my LG passive TV) eliminated a lot of the aliasing and made the games look significantly BETTER than they did in 2D.

In Carolyn's defense, I think that this trend of the message board blowing up over the score number is illustrating how unimportant the numerical score actually is. Seeing a 5 or below is a good indicator that the game is probably broken in some way, but anything from 6-10 is dramatically coloured by the review itself. If I read a review and see "the story is good, but the framerate is atrocious", I would judge my purchase almost entirely on whether the premise seemed interesting to me, as I know the gameplay will irritate the hell out of me. Reading the actual review forces us to consider the more analogue concept of how the positives and negatives will affect our individual tastes, rather than putting stock in a very digital numerical value that holds little meaning. I almost think a two point review system (a la "thumbs up or thumbs down") would be better to use, as it would encourage us to place more value on the in depth criticism.

6 or no, even looking at this as a massive, $60 expansion to Arkham City, I'm still going to play the hell out of it. Worth noting that I say that as an extremely biased, major Batman fan.

I'm fine with the delay - between Batman, Killzone, Assassin's Creed, Battlefield, CoD and Resogun, I've got enough to keep me busy this holiday season that it won't create a content drought. I've also still got a backlog of PS3/360 games that I'd like to get through (Playstation Plus in particular stacks up a decent list of "oh hey, I never did get around to playing that!" games that I may never make it to- I also don't know if I'll ever actually beat Dark Souls or be finished with Skyrim).

Better they ship a polished game late, than a glitchy game on time.
