Just started playing the PS4 version.... oh man does it look nice.... Not a lot of reviews seem to be comparing the differences between the PS4 and Xbox One versions though, I'd be interested in a more detailed comparison. I hear they look quite different.

@jayjay444 @Glitterpig ....yeah, that's not true dude- Lara is a different name, it's not short for Laura. That's like saying the name "Ryan" is short for "Bryan".

@psuedospike And all FPS games could be called Doom rip-offs, but that doesn't mean Half Life sucks.

I think it looks good- Batman and AC are both good. If they make a LotR game that plays like a cross between them that is also good, who is winning by wasting time calling it a ripoff?

I think Gipsy Danger is the name of the main Jaeger in Pacific Rim - not defending the guy's opinion, but I also don't think he was intentionally trying to have a xenophobic screen handle

I'm actually having a lot more fun with this than with Dead Rising 3 - Ryse actually feels like a next-gen experience and the combat feels really great. It's sort of like the Batman games, but with a much weightier feel. The setting and the story are really good too; despite the cliches Mark talks about in his review, it's presented well enough that I was along for the ride until the very end. It could use a bit more variety in its weapons (with a sword/shield combo being the only option, aside from the odd crossbow turret or spear to throw), but I think this is a good launch game that provides a lot of thrills, some great voice/mocap performances and plenty of eye-candy to show off your Xbox One. It's not a game of the year contender by any stretch, but if you were waiting for a good console Rome game and don't mind a short and sweet, linear hack and slash, Ryse won't disappoint. It would be hard to call it "great", but it's definitely better than "poor". I think "decent" is a fair thing to call it and it deserves a 6.5 or maybe even a soft 7.0.

@DigiRave Is that really "LMAO!!!!" funny?

I'd say if you're going to point it out, it's small chuckle worthy at best... maybe a lower case "lol" with no exclamation points?

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes is on my list for sure - glorified demo or not, I'm going to play the hell out of that game. I may even grab a digital copy of the PS3 version too, just to A/B the PS3/PS4 differences in the fox engine.

I've been glued to ACIV on the PS4 - and doing the fetch quests on Vita remote play while watching football is just awesome.

@kingoflife9 Whoa, I totally disagree on the controllers- I think the Xbox One controller is a MAJOR step down from the 360; the ergonomics are weird and the bumper buttons are atrocious. The PS4 controller on the other hand fixes pretty much everything that was bad about the DS3.
