I bought the following system for 1410, assembled.

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
500watt power supply
2gigs DDR2 ram 667mhz
250gb SATA 7200rpm
18x samsung dvd burner
Geforce 8800gts 640mb

Anyway I'm thinking of adding one of Dell's 22inch widescreen monitors to it (around 300 bucks), but I know absolutely nothing about displays. So, anyone know of a nice widescreen display for around 300-400 dollars?

Thanks!

Ok, is this a good deal?
I trade in:
  1. Socom 1
  2. Wipeout Pure
  3. Me and My katamari
  4. SSX On Tour
And pay some more money for G.R.A.W. on the XBOX 360

and how much do you think gamespot will give me for all three games?

As a major games media site, I doubt Gamespot would have any interest in buying your games. Sorry.

OH AND KATAMARI FOR GRAW ARE YOU CRAZY? Katamari games are amazing and graw gets old quick.

PC World has given their PCs very high ratings and the prices seem great.

Anyone have one or know anything about them?

[QUOTE="drucom"]Cyberpower has mixed reviews. So say everything came fine, others say that they even received wrong components. So it's a luck thing. They are dirt cheap, though. With prices like that I wouldn't be surprised if they only made a few dollars profit per PC. Velocity Micro is an excellent choice, but don't even THINK of getting a DX 10 setup for around US$ dollars, then you're dreaming. The card itself will be around 1/6 to 1/3 of the price, depending on the one you want. The processor options are reduced due to price constraints, and you'll end up buying one that bottlenecks your card. RAM won't be so good, and neither will memory. I won't even begin with the monitor. I'm looking to buy one myself from Velocity Micro, it's around US$2,000, because I don't trust Cyberpower. I might hold out until prices on the 8800 gts 640 drop, so i can snatch that instead of a 7950 GTS 512 card, as id have to switch the mobo as well later when it comes to upgrading itme.

Yeah, I was thinking that I'd put around 1500 in now and then add the extra gig of ram in a month and then the extra harddrive and someday a nice DX 10 card, but I figure now I'll just get a nice processor, ram, sli motherboard and power supply so that I'll be set. I figure in a year I'll buy a quad core anyway, so I should be as cheap as possible now.

I've looked up all the PC companies on the bbb and all that I've found is that PC makers suck.

I was thinking about Dell but I saw that all their computers come with a 375watt power supply, which would really suck if I wanted to get a direct x 10 videocard someday.

Did they have good service?

I've read good things about VelocityMicro and ABS, but are there any other reliable stores to buy from online?

I only have around 1400-1500 dollars to spend, so I can't go with a place that's too fancy.

Thanks!

Get PGR3 or Perfect Dark Zero, then buy Geometry Wars and download the fight night demo, you'll be set!

I don't want to see any N64 games on the DS. I'd rather see Nintendo put the time, effort and funding into new games. Especially given that by the end of the year (hopefully) we'll all have Revolutions and be able to download N64 games.Potemkin2005

I agree... and if your name is in reference to the Eisenstein film then you have good taste.
