Wow, far too much Dark Souls hate in this comment section. I suppose if it was for you, you would have bought it already and if its not then you will hate it. As for those on the fence, stick with the game, its personally my best game last gen.
@Sevenizz I've logged in to reply to this comment so do me (and yourself) a huge favour and stick with it. You will find it one of the greatest games past generation.
Great review Kevin, IGN's review is piss poor compared to this. Honestly I have to say this game does nothing for me so I wont be picking it up any time soon.
Most people don't care too much for the visuals as its all about the kick ass combat mechanics though it would have been nice to have something akin to what was showed at E3. Still, I trust Fromsoft and the sacrifice will not have been easily made.
Still some gorgeous artwork and locations like Majula and the Doors of Pharros - seriously after the Royal Rat boss fightI was gazing at the hall for a good 10 minutes before moving on!
Most fans dont care about DS visuals, its all about the gameplay and kick arse combat. That said, it woul dhave been nice for improved visuals akin to E3 as some of the locations are gorgeous! Majula is breath taking and places like Doors of Pharros - I just killed the boss there last night and was gazing in that hall for a good 10 minutes before moving on!
@xx_darksoul_xx agree though now playing the 3rd in the series its hard to detach yourself from what you already know and so only a newbie can advise on accesibility.
You should quickly come to appreciate that exploration in this game is a game mechanic and that there is very little hand holding. Once you understand that much, nothing should come as a surprise.
I appreciate this game for what it does. Yes, whilst it is clearly on the hardcore end of the spectrum, Justin has become numb by the linear trash of games that has taken over the industry of late.
