Looks pretty awesome, great production values on the trailer. Graphics engine looks like it's been overhauled, too.

I hope they fix the animation system and make the weapons combat more fluid and natural, and forego any missions that resemble the repetitive Oblivion Gates. Would love to see a really well-written, immersive story too. Finger crossed, but I'm cautiously optimistic. :)

My thoughts on MW2 (late to the party, I know). Realize Champ unfortunately won't be able to update this thread any longer, but let's keep it alive in his honor! :) I have to admit, I enlisted for duty in Modern Warfare 2 with a healthy dose of skepticism. Having played four previous Call of Duty games before, and not being particularly impressed with the first Modern Warfare, I didn't come into this game with high hopes that it would meet the hype. While the core gameplay of Modern Warfare 2 doesn't stray far from its predecessors, I have to concede I was pretty stunned and blown away by the production values of this game. Having played through the campaign and a good majority of the Spec Ops missions on Veteran, I can attest that Modern Warfare 2 isn't just hype -- it's a fine piece of craftsmanship that offers a blockbuster thrill ride rivaled by few other action games on the market today. One of the most impressive aspects of this game is the sheer number of different environments you traverse as a spec ops soldier. Most games offer one or two environmental settings to explore; by contrast, Modern Warfare 2 thrusts you into a dizzying array of stunning battlefield environments -- one moment, you're rumbling down the sides of a Russian mountaintop in a snowmobile, the next moment you're crawling through the wilderness brush of the Afghan mountains, and in the blink of an eye you're chasing terrorists across the rooftops of a South American favela. The sheer number of different settings is a testament to the blood, sweat and tears the development team poured into making sure every chapter looks unique and feels as fresh and thrilling as the one before. The most impactful moments in the game are the handful of scripted sequences that make it feel truly like a Hollywood blockbuster experience and not just an ordinary shooter. For example, in one sequence you're climbing the side of an icy precipice when a jet screeches by overhead, causing your comrade to nearly lose his grip and sending chunks of ice crashing towards you. These moments are spectacular sequences that immerse you even deeper in the experience and make it feel as if you're living the part in a summer blockbuster movie. The boldest aspect of this game, of course, is the "No Russian" level, where you take part (or witness) a merciless terrorist attack in a Russian airport. Although I knew the premise of this mission going into it (given the substantial media controversy surrounding it), I was still quite stunned with just how realistic it felt. Seeing the violence and carnage of the attack, and how closely it mirrored the images we see far too often on today's news reports, was a deeply disturbing feeling that I don't think I've ever experienced in a video game before. It's a shame the developers didn't use this sequence to convey a deeper message by tying it to a more meaningful story, but it does signify the maturation of the medium and that developers are increasingly more brave and willing to tackle dangerous and relevant political issues like terrorism. In terms of entertainment value, it's hard to deny Modern Warfare 2 doesn't give you bang for the buck. With an addictive Spec-Ops co-op mode, a bombastic and spectacle-filled campaign and a diverse variety of multiplayer offerings, Modern Warfare 2 without a doubt surpasses every Call of Duty before it and takes the franchise to new heights.

If you haven't yet, give this 1UP story a read: http://www.1up.com/features/twenty-one-batman-villains-arkham-city?pager.offset=0 I didn't read that many Batman comics as a kid, so I didn't realize just how many outlandish and hilarious characters have graced their pages in the past. On a separate note, just watched The Dark Knight again yesterday. That scene when the Batpod ejects from the Batmobile still makes me feel tingly downstairs.
