Some rappers may be dead, but their music lives on on the radio, through other rappers, etc, thus keeping them relevant. Sometimes these rappers are referenced by other rappers, because the songs they have made are classics, and those songs live on as well. To answer about Eminem, I'm just saying he isn't in his top form. Back in the day, he was a beast on the mic, and would talk about many subjects rappers in the genre wouldn't dare rap about, but these days it seems like he's holding back, a lot. Time will tell whether his body of work will stand the test of time, though many of his recent songs aren't particularly strong. And OutKast and Nas are pretty consistant... even though they haven't put out music recently, their body of work throughout their careers are pretty strong.
Lil' Wayne is garbage, I really don't know why some people put him as one of the best rappers ever... Not even close, son! ;) Eminem was good... in his prime. These days, it seems he tries really hard to stay relevant. I would put Nas, Jay-Z, Rakim, Talib Kwali, KRS One, 2Pac, Biggie, Slick Rick & OutKast among the best in the genre.
