@jport7: are you for real?

this is a video recorded on a phone or a DSLR of projected image about 20 times larger than your tv converted to a shitty format uploaded to a website who's video player uses terrible codex at a crappy resolution playing through your web browser.

what you're looking at isn't 1080p gamplay running at 200 fps.

jeez, i can't even be be bothered...

@Die_Bahn: yeah, i think netflix realised that streaming third party films is a really crowded market place. it's competitive, realtively easy to set up, difficult to create a USP and hence i guess the margins are low. that's why their model now focuses on exclusive content...

don't lionsgate sell their movies on every platform now? seems like it in the UK. not much exclusive here, what with SKY, amazon, netflix, itunes etc...

i watched a LP of firewatch. i liked the game. i liked watching the let's play. but i didn't buy the game because there was nothing really left to experience having watched the whole narrative unfold on youtube. i think that LPs really do hurt sales for certain kinds of walking simulators and narrative heavy/only games. but for most other types of game. no. they help sales.

@ramtracker42: if you liked borderlands and don't mind 3rd person shooters (think other Clancy games like Rainbow 6 Vegas etc) then you'll love it. the whole thing is super tight. the constant flipping between single player narrative runs, coop missions and DZ runs keeps it really interesting and fresh. all the while, each type of activity helps you progress, so you don't feel like your wasting your time. the reviewer is right about the AI and bullet sponges though.

@bluefox755: the DZ is mostly PvE. from my experience (many many hours) PvP fights kick off fairly rarely. also, i'd recommend teaming up with randoms for DZ runs. it's super easy to do, just use the screens in the safehouses and seconds later you'll be in a 3 or 4 man squad ready to go. the folk i've been playing with on PC have been cool, with a great attitude and ive had no problems at all. this is the best part of the game. going into the DZ alone is okay, at lower levels it's nice to get the layout of the maps in your head. when i played at DZ level 1 i was able to extract loads of loot on my own. being a dick and going rogue isn't really a very efficient way to grab loot, it might be fun for a bit. most people dont do it and have each others backs. doing the story missions is fun too. you can do them alone of with a squad. it works like borderlands. however, it has a much stronger narrative and you can play the whole game alone and it will feel like a gripping single player campaign set in a vast open world.

the reason no mans sky has nothing to say is because there's nothing to say about it. i think we all know what the game is. well most of us. the game seems to be dining out on the veiled promise that they'll be loads of amazing and exciting things to do. it doesn't want to burts that bubble before launch!

yeah, the dude behing the camera is supertalented. i notived that from the start. glad he got a mention.

@GreySeven:

i think there is a little bitterness. the criticism of the prequels is hurting.
