@boobytrap: I never said the game wasn’t different. But trying to claim they copy/pasted when the official patch notes list Sharp and Soft as well is just silly when clearly the fault lies with SE using 2 different terms and from a graphical point the 2 terms basically mean the same thing anyway.

@boobytrap: SE's very own patch notes list it as "Sharp and Soft", so maybe check your sources before making baseless accusations.

These players are just missing out on the hilarious fun of failing a stratagem code while being chased by dozens of enemies and having your friends laugh at you, or managing to enter the code and die after you throw it or even before you throw it. Some people are just taking this game way too seriously with things like this and kicking non-meta loadouts. Its ok to fail and honestly this game is at its best when things go hilariously wrong.

@strrckshn: And yet my PC, Xbox and gamepass have done the bulk of my gaming in the last few years with some Switch exclusives thrown in. FFXVI has finally made me dust of my PS5 since it hasn't been turned on since I finished Horizon: FW over a year ago. There's more to which console someone plays besides triple A exclusives, the attach rate of most exclusives tells you as much.

lol $25/month in Australia... absolutely no thanks, Ultimate only costs me $16 and its got vastly superior options.

I can buy the gold versions 2-3 months after launch for that price and Ubisoft only have AC, Anno and Splinter Cell that are of any real interest to me anyway. Unless they start releasing more than 12 must play games per year, you would be foolish to pay this price over waiting 2-3 months and buying their games when they inevitably end up with 80% discounts.

They are also advertising it as discounted which is also illegal in Australia since the items are not available for individual sale and have never been sold at the full price before.

@philip6k: Pretty sure they are more referring to the ambiguous title stating 1k per minute in its first year, when really it was only 1k per minute in its first 82 minutes. A huge difference compared to what the purposely ambiguous headline would initially lead many to believe.

@Spartan_418: The bigger issue is the unreal expectation all these fan projects are potentially putting on the actual games. Take the Halo one for instance, sure it was very pretty but the engine was already hitting its budget several times through the video and it didn't even have things like AI, enemies or even a dynamic lighting systems running. Even with Starfield, people really need to temper their expectations and remember the game has been in development for quite some time, so the engine is going to be years old at this point, not to mention I believe its still just technically an updated version of the creation engine.

@chaosemerald: It was a balance issue originally, which is why in Reach they made a specific mode for Elites vs Spartans but you couldn’t play as an Elite model in normal gamemodes.

Due to the original elite model being more hunched, it caused them to have relatively large heads which made headshots easier to land on Elites and also caused their heads to stick out from behind certain types of cover. It also made it quite hard to land a headshot on an Elite when shooting at them from behind which gave them an advantage in game types where you might normally be in a situation where you would be chasing opponents rather than facing them head to head such as chasing the flag carrier in CTF. Essentially almost nobody really played as an Elite in competitive modes due to how easy it was to land a headshot in a direct firefight.

Essentially it was a balance nightmare for competitive gamemodes, hence the change with Reach where they specifically balanced the Elites and Spartans differently and forced them into separate teams. Elites were larger, faster, had weaker shields that regenerated faster and had more health and regenerated health but spawned with weaker weapons, whilst Spartans were smaller and harder to hit, had higher shields but longer regeneration and needed to collect health packs to restore health and they immediately spawned with precision weapons.
