It'd be nice to see the real stats frome Microsoft and Sony as to the male / female split based on live and psn account setups - I've got a feeling its the stats that games are created for. At the end of the day if Microsoft make £400m on selling Halo why bother catering for women?

Biggest pile of nonsense i've read today. Those stats are clearly there for someone to push their own agenda on to gaming. Do your own surveys - go in work and ask those questions to people, out of 30 women I speak to regularly in my office, not a single one stated they had a console. The usual response is "my boyfriend/husband has one". I'm not usually a fan of conspiracy theories, but this one stinks a bit.

Online gameplay would be amazing. if the bulk of people who play mp games weren't the mix of either completely mute people who don't like to speak during a game, or the complete gobsheits who talk utter nonsense.

I fully jumped on board in the early xbox/ps2 days (socom was the place to be) but once this gen launched (for me anyway) people turned into retards online.

It is extremely rare that I touch the MP content on a game in the last couple of years, possibly because MP is no longer region locked - we all demanded that the regions be unlocked, and for me, it ruined it.

I think half the problem with MP is that games get released at different times in different regions and by the time the UK is online, everyone else has already become gaming gods on whatever title it is, making your first few hours online horrendous. EA also don't help the situation by letting you purchase your way to better kit on a lot of their titles.

The last R&C game insomniac released was awful, and was ruined by the mp content. If they have truly walked away from R&C being a single player experience I'm sad to say I'll be letting the franchise go.

MP should be included in a lot of games for those who want it, but if its at the expense of SP then I'll pass

Mabey I'm in the minority now, but I play SP to relieve stress, MP just generates it - is 35 getting to old for gaming?!? (after all I have been playing since the Amstrad days...)

Another rubbish attempt by microsoft, oh sorry GameSpot to ridicule the PS3. As an owner of all three consoles, I'd much prefer to see some decent reviews like the old days rather than waste my time with this drivel. Are there such a shortage of good writers that we have to resort to this kind of thing??
