Whoever said fibre to the home would be outdated and is too expensive is mis-informed. Yes, it's a lot of money, but it's an investment which will set Australia up. And it's far from outdated. Fibre is at the speed of light, and can be ramped up when technology improves. Anyway, if being eventually outdated prevented us from building things, nothing would get done. Personally, I think none of the parties deserve to govern, but I prefer Labor because I desperately want the NBN to go ahead. I already have 120GB month at 20 MBps, but it's not about me, it's about the future of Australia.
Just to add, I urge everyone to vote Labor so the NBN can go ahead. This isn't just about how fast you can download, it's about Australia's future prosperity. Voting Libs will go back to making Telstra even more dominant, and our services will stagnate. It was the Libs who put us in this mess. I understand the concerns about the filter, and I'm totally against it and have sent letters to numerous ministers, but I doubt it will go ahead. It's already been postponed, and things like this eventually fade into obscurity. Vote Labor, and Greens in the Senate (They oppose the filter, and will hold the balance of power).
Quote: " It is not just the weight of numbers that need to be considered" I thought that was how a democracy worked? Quote: " further work needs to be done before a decision can be made" How much time do they need, it's been ages and should have been sorted by now? The bottom line is, none of the major parties will commit prior to an election in the fear they will alienate some voters. They think it's better to be silent than to support or not support it. Typical....
