This game is a disappointment. The creators' misaligned intentions made a misaligned game. In sales, this game is a major faux pas. By attempting to straddle two highly varied customers, the product becomes a mix of values that apply to neither. Its like making a men's shoe with a high heel because the manufacturer is trying to make a product that sells to both genders. Someone in EA corporate saw the difference in market size between RPG fans alone and their FPS/Action game fans, and attempted to capture them both. Some gamers lie in between the genres, but they're exceptions. Bioware/EA can't straddle two largely different target customers and expect to capture either's serious validation, especially in highly specialized gaming. I hope a serious RPG competitor arises to keep Bioware in line, in a way that EA corporates understand. As a result marketing misfires, DA2 makes no sense to either target market. Salvage your product Bioware/EA!! Make a Dragon Age 3 that adds the few RPG gamer-valued elements of Dragon Age 2. Dragon Age's story and structure is inevitably built for raw RPGs and nothing else. Anything else WILL misfire because swords, sorcery, the existing story, and expectations lead to a game that will only be sought by a sophisticated RPG gamer. I want to see true tactics, honest interactions, epic stories, and all of the story elements from DAO, BG, BGII, etc brought into another true RPG. Spice however you want, but the meal should be filling.
