@starlancex8 @AzulSoul Don't understand your comment, star. Azul is entitled to his opinion, as we all have our own thoughts on what constitutes a "masterpiece." Example: I cannot stand Halo (and yes, I've played it, extensively) but I'll defend to the death my belief that Resident Evil 4 is the best game I've ever played.

Some of my friends agree with me. Many people I know think I'm nuts for not liking Halo. Some of those people agree about RE4, some don't (I don't personally know anyone who dislikes it, but I've read comments on the internet from people who did).

But what's the thing about the perfect 10s? Azul never even mentioned that, he just said it wasn't a masterpiece. And the fanboy complaints here seem to go along the lines of, "WAAAH THIS GAME IS BEST EVER OMFG EVERYONE ELSE GIVES IT A 9.5 OR 10!"

In the interest of fairness, I have not played this game yet, so I have no idea. I'm definitely getting it now just because of all the drama going on here. Got to know for myself how it is (it looks totally amazing, btw).

@Donrock12 @BuyaPC @jawslover @Deadman_est1982 Calling Jaws is an idiot is a little overboard. Odds are deadman's comment was a slam on the article beyond simply being "boring." Not for sure, but likely; I know I've said dismissive things like that to voice my displeasure. Heck, I'm not even certain Jaws cared about the score and was defending, just calling the first guy out for joining the screaming fanboys.

Now in all fairness, we don't know what deadman meant, and, Don, you could be correct that he wasn't commenting on anything other than how interesting of a read this article was (I doubt that, but that's just my opinion).

That being said, to Don and buyapc, I didn't know that some reviewers often don't play the games. I've heard others mention that these sites have a financial interest in giving certain studios high marks.

Do you guys know if this is definitely true (Don you said that many others probably do it intentionally based on you doing it for this game)? Because that would be horrifically unprofessional.

@Unbound72 @Slim_Lyrics @YellowJello @supermarioooooo Haha Unbound completely agree. Your post went up as I was writing mine, and we basically said the same thing.

@Slim_Lyrics @YellowJello @supermarioooooo I don't know if Tom goes out of his way to be a contrarian or not. I fail to see how Tom's lower review (he gave it an 8/10, people, and rated it "great") in light of this game/a game having a high overall score puts his opinion in doubt.

Often people seen as total contrarians are anything but. Again, I do not know about this reviewer. However, sometimes very popular games are not that great. This could just as easily be an example of how Tom doesn't simply listen to the masses and forms his own opinion, regardless of what most others say. Just because his opinion is "so skewered faraway from the general consensus" (why? because he didn't give it a 9 or 9.5? He gave it an 8, that isn't that far from the consensus at all.) doesn't mean he didn't play the game at length to form that opinion. Also, he could just be wrong, which is allowed. We're all wrong sometimes. Most of the time, to be honest.

Giving a low score to a high rated game doesn't lower your professional reputation. If he was a liar and was unprofessional, his reputation would be in tatters and he would likely not be employed by Gamespot.

@theCCyberDDemon Wow. I think you are a bit too reasonable and measured to post comments on the internet. Don't you know that if somebody has an opinion that differs from yours in the slightest, that person is an unprofessional liar who commits reprehensible acts in their spare time, has no life, is a sad human being who just hates on more successful individuals, etc.?

Good comment. You are completely correct.

@philMcCrevis I think you need to calm down...you kind of sound like a "clown" when you question somebody's intelligence and professionalism simply because they hold a different opinion.
