The colleges and technical schools cash in on government money and consistently give loans to students who should not get them for degrees they cant make money with and offer nothing to society. Almost no reason to go to college with the internet other than to show you have a degree when applying for a job. As someone who employs people though, the college students have been worthless and everyone I hired that learned on their own and doesn't have a degree have been much better employees and more skilled. Modeling, Texturing, Rigging etc. jobs for context.

Brawlhalla. Early access fighting game on pc similiar to Super Smash Bros. that has local splitscreen. If you want more games with it, buy the ones that do support it.

The most important thing is vram. if you have less than 4gb its not even worth doing, and keep in mind that crossfire and sli do not stack vram. It uses whatever the primary cards vram is.

The problem is a lot of old games don't support 4k. All a higher resolution without detailed textures will just be a sharper picture with considerably worse performance.

That's all 4k really is anyways. Added sharpness. You're not actually seeing anything that you wouldn't otherwise see at 1080p in terms of texture detail. "4k" textures doesn't mean that you have to have 4k resolution to see the detail, it just literally means the resolution of the textures is 4k. Which means they just look extra clean. It would be equally beneficial to have those same textures at 1080P, because if you got close enough to them, at any resolution, they'd be blurry.

I know that...It has to do with texel to pixel ratio. To maximize the quality at 4K screen resolution, you need a higher texel density by using a larger texture sizes. It can be even more important for other things than texture maps, such as displacement and normal maps. Its obviously more apparent while close, but old games have quite small texture sizes normally so it is noticeable from far away also. Just saying its not really going to look better, it would be comparable to 1080p with 4x or 8x AA. Source: Am graphics programmer

The real problem with this piece is that they are telling you what "gamers are like" without providing anything to back it up except killing prostitutes in GTA. Yet of course they don't tell you everyone can be killed not just prostitutes.

On top of all that Anita Sarkeesan will take any violence towards women, not violence toward them because they are women, and spin it into games that are specifically being violent toward women. If anything the fact that women can be hurt in video games is the opposite of sexism.

Also, only in America does the sexualization of things matter. I mean really, what is the big deal. Its not like anyone actually expects real women to be or even look like video game women.

@edinsftw: Did you get lemons or something? You should have been able to RMA right? I think I'll be going with the one in my link to match my color scheme.

@PredatorRules Yea, but it came with a lot of other features that I wanted and I actually did figure out the audio. Problem was that the Realtek audio manager was running multiple profiles at the same time by default because the ASUS board has an auto-detect for the front port HD audio that changes my settings and automatically enables the excess profile. I fixed this by plugging my amp into the rear line out and now everything sounds great.

I'm not sure as this is my first pair of "audiophile" headphones but maybe they are burned in now too. I'll still go for the sound card though, just because I'm curious to see what difference it will make. At the very least it will take the load of processing sound off the CPU, squeeze out a little more fps lol.

No the hardware itself worked, but it didn't work with many audio programs and caused problems with other things within windows. It was all software related and as such I didn't want another I wanted a different product.

Do you use a sound card? What do you think about this one?

I don't know about anyone else, but i avoid creative/soundblaster products from bad experiences. If you want a card with a built in headphone amp go for an asus xonar essence stx. Although I have to say that desktop control seems pretty awesome on the creative/soundblaster card. Since you do not have much previous experience with these and you won't know what you really want yet, I would say go for whatever ends up being cheaper.

Eyefinity/Nvidia surround with 4k, 1600p/1440p displays? When I had 1080p Eyefinity I couldn't play alot of games with 2gb vram, Considering 1600p is actually 2x the res thats ~4gb ram at least. You always want a little bit of headroom with all computer parts imo.
