Reported for racism.

You're the racist, you filthy Spartan lover. Why can't you love the Spartans and Persians equally? Reported to mods.

It's gotta be that "guy" from Jurassic Park, Space Jam, and (I think) Seinfeld.

I haven't met you either, so does that mean I scientifically proved you don't exist?

dooly420

The burden of proof lies on someone who claims something does exist, not on someone who says it doesn't. Otherwise, I could believe everything anyone ever made up exists.

Actually, it goes both ways. People are trying to prove that Christianity doesn't exist, so nonbelievers actually have a responsibility to say why they don't believe in something.

wait, wait, wait. people are trying to prove that the religion, christianity, doesn't exist? do they just completely ignore the millions of churches scattered throughout the world?

Are you serious? A church isn't exactly proof that God exists though, so yeah, they ignore it. Haven't you read all the Evolution stuff about life being created out of water ?

where did this god stuff come from? you said people were trying to prove that christianity doesn't exist.

Oh, sorry. We misunderstood each other (for me, that's twice in this topic alone). I meant something else.

God could have easily done the Big Bang, and he could have done the evolution part, too. Plus the Big Bang didn't create life, it only started the universe.

dooly420

But the one thing he can't or won't do is just appear and say, "Here I am, morons. Now you have actual evidence!"

Something tells me even THAT wouldn't be good enough.

You are right, my friend. If God can send down his Son, who DIED FOR OUR SINS, and 2000 years later, here we are, still arguing over it on the internet, then clearly, nothing can convince people to convert to Christianity.

but who would want to worship a god with a tiny penis he had a son and the mother was still a virgin. that's a really small wang.

You're not making sense, moron.

says the person who doesn't understand the concept of a joke.

Sorry, I thought you were serious. I actually know people who'll say stuff like that without joking.

How doesn't it make sense? It means Jesus took all the blame for everything we've ever done wrong. It's kind of like sucking up all the sins forever. Of course, it doesn't mean that you can just kill people just because "oh yeah, Jesus died for my sins, so I'm automatically forgiven for anything."

SpaceMoose

1. Because if God is really all powerful, he doesn't need to fullfill a condition to be able to forgive people.

2. To put it succinctly, "free will" + omnipotent creator does not make sense.

We have the freedom to do whatever we want. And we're either blessed or punished for our decisions. Jesus wasn't just a dool to forgive people. Jesus was sent down to Earth in a time when people were starting to doubt that God existed (one of the main causes is the question, "If God exists, then why I am suffering?"). They needed something new to believe again.

And Jesus taught people about God.

I don't believe in Christianity because a single ancient book of text of rather improbable "miracles" does not constitute proof that said "miracles" occurred. There is also the convenient fact that all of those miracles naturally occurred a long time ago...

Similarly, I don't believe in the various other religions that have millions of followers just because some person or collection of people wrote a book.

Now tell me why you believe the Bible is true.

it's a compilation of all of Jesus' followers. And if it was known that the Bible wasn't true, the Romans would have burned them all up after Jesus' death.
